ISSUE= African American people are being persecuted by the police in the
United States of America

stereotyping fully understanding the situation

What do I already know?
Police officers are using force (their guns,
batons, pepper spray, etc.) to control
apparently unarmed black people.
This use of force may be because of
stereotypes of black people being shadier and
involved in gangs. The black people are
protesting to show that they do not agree with
the methods that the police are using to
control black citizens.
What do I need to find out?
I need to find out if the force that the police are
using is legal according to the law. I need to
find out if the victims were actually unarmed.

I know that some white people make very
racist statements about black people. Some of
these people dont even know that the
statements that they are making are racist. I
know that there are racial tensions in the
American society, which causes
misunderstandings and sadness.

How useful was this source?
I went on USA today and
found an article talking
about an associated press
poll and analysing the
details. I searched up the
Associated Press website
and the full results of the
poll came up. I have
analysed this data about
racism and will be used to
prove that racism is
prominent in America.
The Black Lives Matter
website was very useful as
I found out that they had a
financial fund for the
families of victims so they
can still hire a lawyer and
pay court fees.
Wikipedia was quite a
good website to find the
results because the pages
explained what happened
in court and what the
results were. The results
were stated clearly as well.
The videos werent very
clear but after close
inspection, it seems that
Alton Sterling was
unarmed. Eyewitnesses
also stated that Sterling
was not reaching for his
gun or wielding his gun.
