Unit Circle Project

Algebra 2 with Trigonometry


4th Quarter Project

The purpose of this project is to introduce and familiarize students with the Unit Circle, which is used extensively in
Trigonometry and on into Pre-Calculus and Calculus. It is vital that you learn the Unit Circle as soon as possible,
and this project is designed for that purpose.
For this project, you will make a Unit Circle in some attractive and creative way, to be displayed in the Classroom.
The only size limitations are that it must be large enough for me to see the markings easily and it must be small
enough to display in the classroom. Additionally:

All angles must be accurate


All degrees must be clearly and accurately displayed
All radians must be clearly and accurately displayed
All coordinates must be clearly and accurately displayed
Your project must be permanent (not edible or temporary)
Your project must be your own original idea and creation
Your project will not be returned to you
Your project must be neat and imaginative
Your project must include your name, the period, and year on the back
There is a strong emphasis on creativity for this project. If you make a poster, the highest grade you will receive is a
C. Some of my best projects from previous years are displayed in the class to help inspire you. Please do not copy
any of the projects or anyone elses project idea. This should be fun for you because it is your own idea!
There will be awards for the best projects in each class. The winners will receive bonus points as well as a small
prize.
This project is due on May 16 and will be a major grade worth 100 points. If you will not be at school on May 16,
please make arrangements to submit your project early or have someone submit it on your behalf. If your project is
turned in late, there will be an 11% per day deduction in points.
Please refer to the scoring rubric (on back) to ensure that you receive the maximum points on the project. Your
rubric must be handed in with your project.
Have fun but remember this is a major grade. Approach this project with the same seriousness and intensity you
would a research paper. Mediocre work will receive a mediocre grade and poor work will receive a poor grade.
