Stop motion can be presented in many genres and forms.

From music videos to


adverts stop motion is pretty much everywhere.
Due to total control over frame rates, it is mostly used in surreal short films and
music videos such as
David Firths Hell. The
jittery frame rate makes
the video appear more
psychotic and disturb-
ing because the crea-
tures dont move natu-
rally.

The complete control over frame rates can also make videos appear more
quirky, which is apparent in Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer music video,
where the unnatural movement is used for a stylistic purposes to make the vid-
eo more fun.
But the whole purpose of stop motion
is to make inanimate objects seem life
like. Which is also apparent in
Sledgehammer, where Peter Gabriel
is singing with trains traveling around
him and two raw dancing chickens.
