1. INTRODUCTION
A. General
(1) This manual is written to the ATA Specification 100.
(2) The manual describes maintenance on the component in the workshop. It does not describe
maintenance on the component when it is installed in the aircraft.
(3) The information contained in this manual, enables the user to restore to proper operating
condition, the equipment that has been removed from service.
(4) Maintenance Task Oriented Support System (MTOSS) task and subtask identification is used
in this manual. The maintenance tasks and other data have special MTOSS numbers for the
use of Electronic Data Processing (EDP). The MTOSS numbers can be ignored by the user
of the manual.
(5) The overhaul instructions are presented in the following sections:

(1) Make sure the manual contains the information applicable to your component. Look on the Title

1. AVIONICS VENTILATION FILTER ASSEMBLY
A. General
The Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly 34800A200-7 is installed on the front side of the avionic hold.
The primary functions of this unit are :
to remove the water contained in the air on ground,

to remove the solid particles on ground and in flight.
B. Description
(Refer to IPL Fig. 1)
(1) Composition
The Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly includes :
a syphon assembly (1-10),

a cartridge assembly (1-60),
a demister filter (1-70),
a housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
(2) Characteristics
Maximum weight of the syphon assembly (1-10) : 0.560 kg (1.235 lb).

Maximum weight of the cartridge assembly (1-60) : 0.950 kg (2.094 lb).
Maximum weight of the demister filter (1-70) : 0.600 kg (1.323 lb).
Maximum weight of the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A) : 4.900 kg (10.803 lb).
Maximum total weight of the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly : 7.01 kg (15.454 lb).

C. Operation
The function of the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A) is to canalize and guide the
air flow through the demister filter (1-70) and the cartridge assembly (1-60). The
housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A) also holds up the syphon assembly (1-10).
The demister filter (1-70) is installed in the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A). Its function is to
filter the big particles and the water of the air flow.
The cartridge assembly (1-60) is installed in the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A). Its function is
to filter the fine particles of the air flow.
The syphon assembly (1-10) is attached on the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A). Its function is
to drain the water, filtered by the demister filter (1-70), from the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).

2 Remove the syphon assembly (1-10) from the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
(b) Removal of the cartridge assembly (1-60).
1 Turn the six door fasteners of the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A) to open the door.
2 Open the door of the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
3 Press and Push the clamping rod to remove the cartridge assembly (1-60) from the
housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
(c) Removal of the demister filter (1-70).
1 If the door of the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A) is closed :
a Turn the six door fasteners to open the door.

NOTE: The only repairable part of the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly is the

(1) Replacement of the door assembly (2-10) (Refer to IPL Fig. 2).
(a) If you have the door assembly (2-10) closed, do as follows :

(b) Remove the rivets (2-20) from the door assembly (2-10).
(c) Remove the door assembly (2-10) from the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly.
(d) Put a new door assembly (2-10) in position on the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly.
(e) Install the rivets (2-20) into the door assembly (2-10) with RTV applied on the rivets (2-20).
(f) Close the door assembly (2-10).
(g) Turn and secure the six door fasteners (3-10) to lock the door assembly (2-10).
Subtask 21-26-04-300-002-A01
(1) Replacement of the door fasteners (Refer to IPL Fig. 3) and (Refer to IPL Fig. 2).

(b) Remove the stud assembly (3-10) and the retaining washer (3-20) from the
door assembly (2-10).
(c) Put the retaining washer (3-20), and the stud assembly (3-10) in position into the
door assembly (2-10).
(d) Close the door assembly (2-10).
(e) Turn and secure the six door fasteners (3-10) to lock the door assembly (2-10).

the input pressure port on the top of Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly,
the output pressure port on the side of the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly.
(a) Replacement of the input pressure port (4-20).
1 If you have the door of the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly closed, do as follows:

Open the door (2-10).
2 Remove the demister filter (1-70) from the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly.
3 Remove the cap (4-10) from the input pressure port (4-20).
4 Remove the two rivets (4-30) from the input pressure port (4-20).
5 Remove the input pressure port (4-20) from the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly.

6 Put a new input pressure port (4-20) in position onto the Avionics Ventilation Filter
Assembly with RT V applied on the input pressure port (4-20).
7 Install the two rivets (4-30) into the input pressure port (4-20) with RT V applied on the
rivets (4-30).
8 Put the cap (4-10) in position into the input pressure port (4-20).
NOTE: if you have the cap (4-10) defective, replace it by a new one.
9 Put the demister filter (1-70) in the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
10 Close the door assembly (2-10).
11 Turn and secure the six door fasteners (3-10) to lock the door assembly (2-10).
(b) Replacement of the output pressure port (4-20).
1 Remove the cap (4-10) from the output pressure port (4-20).
2 Remove the two rivets (4-30) from the output pressure port (4-20).
3 Remove the output pressure port (4-20) from the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly.
4 Put a new output pressure port (4-20) in position onto the Avionics Ventilation Filter
Assembly.
5 Install the two rivets (4-30) into the output pressure port (4-20) with RT V applied on
the the two rivets (4-30).
6 Put the cap (4-10) in position into the output pressure port (4-20) with RT V applied on
the output pressure port (4-20).
NOTE: if you have the cap (4-10) defective, replace it by a new one.
7 Put the demister filter (1-70) in the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
8 Close the door assembly (2-10).
9 Turn and secure the six door fasteners (3-10) to lock the door assembly (2-10).
Subtask 21-26-04-300-004-A01
(1) Replacement of the door assembly seal (5-10 and 5-20) (Refer to IPL Fig. 5).

(b) Remove the damaged seal (5-10 and/or 5-20).
(c) Clean the surface with alcoholic cleaning agent (NO Acetone permitted).

(d) Put a new seal (5-10 and/or 5-20) with RTV to the junction.
(e) Close the door assembly (2-10).
(f) Turn the six door fasteners (3-10).

(1) Replacement of the air deflector (Refer to IPL Fig. 6).
Please refer to VSB 402K200-2-21-1201 for more details.
NOTE: This task is only applicable to the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).

(b) Remove the demister filter (1-70).
(c) Remove the cartridge assembly (1-60).
(d) Remove the four rivets (6-20).
(e) Remove the two fins.
(f) Remove the rivet (6-30).
(g) Put a new air deflector assembly (6-10) in the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
(h) Install the four new rivets (6-20) into the air deflector assembly (6-10) with RTV applied
on the rivets (6-20).
(j) Install the new rivet (6-30) into the air deflector assembly (6-10) with RTV applied on the
rivet (6-30).
(k) Put the cartridge assembly (1-60) into the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
(l) Put the demister filter (1-70) into the housing assembly (1-80 or 1-80A).
(m) Close the door assembly (2-10).
(n) Turn and secure the six door fasteners (3-10).
(p) Add an "A" in the amendment section on the Label.

(a) Put the storage caps in position on the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly.
NOTE: You have the storage caps in the Illustrated Parts List - Figure 1.
(b) Seal the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly in a plastic bag with special material No.2.
(c) Put and wedge this plastic bag in a carton.
(d) Store the Avionics Ventilation Filter Assembly in a clean dry environment room.

1. GENERAL
The Illustrated Parts List (I.P.L.) is written to the ATA Specification 100. The I.P.L. identifies all the
components of the unit.
The Illustrated Parts List contains the following sections :
Introduction,
Vendors Code List,
Alpha/Numerical Index,
Detailed Parts List (with illustrations that show an explosed view of the parts).
2. HOW TO USE THE DETAILED PARTS LIST
A. To find a part with a known Part Number (P/N) in an illustration:
(1) Refer to the numerical index (NI/ALPHA) and find the P/N.
(2) Find the related Fig. Item in the FIG. ITEM column.
(3) Refer to the Parts List and find the first Fig. Number that you found in the numerical index.
(4) Find the Item number in the illustration.
NOTE: For more data about the Item refer the Parts List related to the illustration.
When the first figure does not show the applicable part refer to the other figure numbers in
the numerical index.
B. To find a Part Number when you only know the assembly:
(1) Find the illustration that shows the breakdown of the assembly.
(2) Find the part and its index number on the illustration.
This will also tell you the description and the part number.
(3) Find the index number on the Parts List page related to the illustration.

3. PLAN OF THE I.P.L.
A. Alpha and Numerical Indexes (NI/ALPH/NUM):
contain all the part numbers listed in the Detailed Parts List, in alphabetical and numerical
order.

HELP FOR THE IPL-PAGE EXAMPLE
Item 1: Attaching Parts
The Attaching Parts are listed after the assembly which they attach under the same indenture
number. The words "Attaching Parts" are before three asterisks followed by the nomenclature. The
Next Higher Assembly (NHA) is the major part. The quantity per NHA is that quantity of attaching
parts necessary to attach one assembly to the NHA.

A vendor code is assigned to the parts manufactured by firms other than TECHNOFAN.
These codes are in accordance with the current issue of the Manufacturers Cataloging Handbook
H4/H8:
Federal Supply Code for Manufacturers (FSCM) or Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE)
code (United States and Canada only).
Nato Supply Code for Manufacturers (NSCM) (excluding United States and Canada).
Vendor codes are preceded by the letter "V".
Item 3: See XX-XX-XX-XX for DET or NHA
Identifies correctly:
The Location of the full breakdown of a sub-assembly in the IPL,

The Location of the NHA of the item in the IPL.
Item 4: Quantity
The number in the Units Per Assy column shows the quantity of parts used per one NHA or
installation.
AR = as required
RF = reference (quantity shown in NHA figure)
Item 5: Symmetrical Parts
LH or RH identifies the left hand or right hand position of the part.

If a part is only on one assembly (LH side) or (RH side) follows its title.
Item 6: Usage Code
A letter code (A, B, C, etc.) after the relevant Item Number shows part variation related to the NHA. If
a letter code is not shown the part is applicable to all the variants of the NHA.

Item 7: Revision Indicator
Revised pages show the letter R in the right hand margin, aligned with each changed or added line.
Item 8: Non Procurable Item (NP)
Identifies an item that is not supplied.
Item 9: Other Notes
ORDER OVRLGTH MPN

Identifies a part number with more than fifteen characters that cannot fit in the part number column.
SB XX-XXX
Identifies the Service Bulletin (SB).
When service bulletin number shown in the nomenclature column has a relationship to an
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE (AD), the AD number shall be shown in parentheses, following
the service bulletin number by means of letters AD and the number. For example : PRE SB XX
XXX (AD XXXX), POST SB XX XXX (AD XXXX),ADDED by SB XX XXX (AD XXXX), DELETED
BY SB XX XXX (AD XXXX), etc.
SEL FROM
Identifies a part which you must select from a group of parts that are aligned with the basic part
number.
OVERSIZE/UNDERSIZE
Identifies a part as oversize or undersize.
OPT TO
Identifies an optional part that is fully interchangeable with the original part.
ALT FROM PN XXXX

Identifies an alternative part (this is a part that is fully interchangeable with the original part after
it has had a modification).
BUY PN XXXX
Identifies the replacement part for the part in the part number column.
"MADE FROM XXXXXXXXXX" AND/OR "MADE BY XXXXX"
(1 and 2)
XX X XXXX
Identifies the part number of the basic material (e.g. for seals, hinge strips, extrusion, etc.) from
which the part in the part number column is manufactured.
Identifies the unit of measurement followe by the dimensions or quantity.
SEE CMM or ACMM
Refer to the Component Maintenance Manual or Abbreviated Component Maintenance Manual
for the part listed in the detailed parts list.
LM (LOCAL MANUFACTURE)
Identifies a locally made part.
USED ON MPN
Identifies the NHA for a part in the part number column.
This is used when the NHA is not clear from the Usage Code (almost the same assemblies with
details that are not the same but have a single breakdown).
PART NUMBER
A part number with an alpha at the end refers to a color coded part.
For exterior paint refer to repair.

Supersedes and superseded by.

5. UPDATING
When an item is revised, added or deleted, the letter "R" is shown in the RH margin (the page
date of issue changes).
The letter "R" appears in the RH margin opposite the page number opposite the page number when
all the item numbers are changed.
