CIPL launches 320D2 GC Hydraulic Excavator

Caterpillar India Pvt. Ltd. (CIPL) recently launched the new Cat 320D2
GC Hydraulic Excavator, the most technologically advanced and fuel-
efficient machine in its class. The launch reinforces the companys
commitment to continuously innovate to meet market requirements.

Mr. Jayaram H, Executive Director and CEO of Gmmco Limited,

flagged off the formal launch, along with Andy Dhanaraj, Caterpillar
India. The launch event was held on July 28, 2016 at CIPLs Thiruvallur
manufacturing facility.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jayaram said, We are proud to be

associated with a quality brand like Cat. Our sales team welcomes
the prospect of selling the 320D2 GC, which is undoubtedly the best
20 ton excavator in the market today.

Mr. Anandkumar Dhanaraj added, We see tremendous amount

resulting from the governments aggressive plans for infrastructure
development. We will continue to explore and develop products that
will meet Indian market requirements and leverage regional and

Gmmco launches yet another parts promotion campaign

promotion campaign, launched to increase the
parts sale during the high activity period after the
monsoon season.

This is a lucky draw promotion where the customers

get an opportunity to win attractive prizes every
time they purchase parts for their Cat machines in
the month of September.

This campaign is similar to the earlier Lucky 7

campaign launched in 2015 which was immensely
successful in India. The Gmmco team is quite
excited this year too and has tried to engage the
customers through various channels like social
media, Gmmco website, face to face dialogues,
telemarketing, sms texts etc.

Fact based findings have been shared with Gmmco & Caterpillar teams for BCP, GCI, Mining, EP (Retail & Investor), Marine, Oil &
Gas and Petroleum. The teams are now working on identifying the action items under 6A work stream framework and developing the
project charters.

The project team has highlighted the opportunities and challenges which needs attention for improved profitability.

The project findings and action planning is well timed as those will be captured in the growth plans which will be reviewed for 2017-18
from next month onwards.

TIPL fostering partnership with customers

of our vision and one of our values. It is our unrelenting pursuit at TIPL, to provide our
customers with the best solution and support possible.

With a view to strengthen our relationship with the esteemed customers, the TIPL
team along with the Caterpillar India Team had recently hosted a Customer Meet
in Delhi in July, 2016. It was attended by all the leading stakeholders of the Indian
Mining Industry including the mine owner, mine developer and operator along with
the consultants. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all the major industry
players including Adani, Jindal, Jaypee, Essel Mining, Lanco, Sainik Mining, VMR,
Monet Ispat, KPMG, SRK Consulting and others. TIPL was represented by Mr. S K
Chaturvedi, Chairman & MD along with Mr. Dipankar Banerjee, COO Mining Business and
entire mining sales team. Mr. J P Bekkering, Director, Mr. Levee Cai and Mr. Rahul Jain
along with the mining sales heads represented the Caterpillar team.

The highlight of the event turned out to be when, veterans associated with the Indian
mining industry for over 30 years, shared their experiences with all present. Their presence
at the meet demonstrated enthusiasm, expressing their confidence in quality, reliability and
longer life of CAT equipment. They mentioned that Caterpillar is equipment is well preferred
in Industry for its better productivity and TCO than competition. They have appreciated
TIPL for their highest level of Product Support and superior way for executing MARC to get
better machine availability and reliability.

Delhi is home to more than 11 million people,
is the countrys second largest city and

rate. Clean water is among the most vital
basic necessities for the population. Delhi
Jal Boards Sewage treatment plant had
recently commissioned a 3x 369Kwe Biogas
based genset. Run on biogas derived from
digestion of the sewage sludge, the system
can supply autonomous power. This power
is further utilised for the Sewage Plants
own internal consumption.
The independently produced energy
from biogas thus not only improves the
environmental balance of the plant, energy
costs are reduced as well. The treated
sewage sludge will be available to regional
farmers as fertilizer, while the cleaned
waste water will be fed into the Yamuna,
without any burden on the environment.
In the past, unregulated effluents from
industrial and household wastewater had
caused the Yamuna in Delhi to be declared a
dead river. Now a significant contribution
is being made towards the clean-up and
protection of the Yamuna. The E&T (Gas
Team) was instrumental for successfully
closing the deal with Delhi Jal Board.

Gmmco conducts mentoring program for young talents

As a part of Gmmcos initiatives to
continuously develop young talent,

Gmmco gets a major break through order from construction

fabricators, Hyderabad with 20 Nos. indigenously built,
rugged, reliable, proven CAT 3406 & 3306 engines, with
a potential for 40 nos. every year. The prototype was
successfully commissioned in 2015 and has run for over
1000 Hours. These engines provide better fuel economy,
easy maintenance, long time between overhauls and
compatible for nominal fuel quality. These engines are
proven for continuous operation cycle with maximum load factors
which brings added revenue for our end customers. CIPL & GMMCO
team worked relentlessly over couple of months and provided
technically superior & customized solution to win this business against
immense competition from local engine manufacturers. The proto was

Transforming Lives! A project for cause!
Transforming Lives is a project aimed
at touching the lives of school children
from the rural community of Thiruvallur,
the location of the CIPL plant. MH&U is
facilitating partnership between a rural
school (Chellammal Matriculation School,
Melnalathur - Sponsored by Caterpillar)
and American International School(AISCH),
Chennai, to benefit 1000 students providing
them access to state-of-the-art educational
facilities of the American School and
to forge a successful higher education
career for rural students. The initiative
empowers them to dream big. Wouldnt
it be amazing and great, if a Child from
Chellammal - first even dreams of going to
Stanford - and then through this program,
makes it there? This program has given
us an opportunity to serve the community
we work for unswerving, which attests the
fact that Caterpillar not just makes progress
possible but also encodes development and
growth in the life of students from
Chellammal School.
Transforming Lives project envisions to
enhance interest among children towards
STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering
and Mathematics). We take great pleasure
to share with you one such initiative
under the transforming lives umbrella is

bearing fruit. The ARDUINO ROBOTICS Kannairam and Ranjith Chockalingam has
PROJECT sponsored by Caterpillar India expanded the horizons for the children of

to construct and code a robot. Anu Tiwari - Move Fast!

Devanshi Patel Plant Engineering,
Rajesh Anand Product Group and
Anand Radhakrishnan GSND deserves
appreciation for coaching and mentoring
them to step up and stand tall.
Chellammal children having participated in
first level and also short listed for the finals
in the National Robotics Competition that
was conducted by American International
School, Chennai. 25 students from different
schools have participated. Displaying
an exemplary example of inclusion and
innovation Parthasarty from Chellamal
School teamed up with AiSch High School
boys and bagged 1st Place. Also Nikith
Jausha, Jaishree, Ilamathy and Praveen Raj
secured 3rd Place. This proves coaching
and mentoring can achieve wonders
towards growth. Children, feeling proud to
participate and bag prizes in the National
Robotic Competition, displayed tremendous
enthusiasm and zeal at the event
Bappa Banerjee initiated Transforming Life
Project and being sponsored by Sundar
Deivanayagam. This project led by Lavanya
