A simple mix of spirits, sugar, bitters and water. It was the first printed recipe for a
cocktail in 1806. At the time other alcohols were permitted, but today the whiskey
version over ice is what we now know as the old fashioned. Ours consists of a
combination of orange and lemon zest, and a sugar cube stirred with your choice of
whiskey and bitter.
