Find the product of 60 and 26.

One way to find 60 26 is to use a grid.

Show 60 rows with 26 squares in each row.

Break apart 26 into tens and ones: 26 = 20 + 6.

Draw a vertical line on the grid to separate the

grid into two sections. Label one section 60 20.
Label the other section 60 6.

Multiply to find the partial products:

60 20 = 1,200 and 60 6 = 360.

Add the partial products:
