A BRIEF PROFILE OF COAL INDIA LIMITED
It is the single largest coal producing company in the world. It
contributes about 84 % of total Coal production in India.

Around 72% of entire power generation in the country is coal based.


It is Coal India that virtually fuels and empowers the power sector in
the country.

Operating through 81 mining areas Coal India Limited is an apex


body with 7 wholly owned coal producing subsidiaries and 1 mine
planning and consultancy company spread over 8 states of India i.e.
Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West
Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Assam. Coal India Limited
produces both coking and non-coking coal .

During F.Y. 2015-16, Coal India Limited as a whole recorded coal


production of 538.75 Million Tonnes and has plans to increase its
production up to 1 Billion Tonnes by the end of 2019-20.

Policy
CIL bags 1st prize in the corporate offices category for best
implementation of Official Language policy of the Union by Town
Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) (PSU),
Kolkata on the occasion of prize distribution ceremony-cum-Half
yearly meeting held on 29.08.2015.

Coal India Limited (CIL) the Maharatna coal mining CPSU bagged
the coveted 'Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar 2015' award in

Coal India Limited (CIL) has been conferred the 'Fastest Growing
Award' in the India Today PSU Awards event held in Delhi on 14
December 2015.

Mr. Sutirtha Bhattacharya, Chairman, Coal India Limited was

MANAGEMENT TRAINEE APPOINTMENT & CAREER PATH

Appointment will be as Management Trainee (subject to medical


fitness) in Grade E-2 for a period of 1 yr Training period

On successful Completion of Training and passing the test


conducted by IICM, regularization will be in grade E3 with
probation for 1 yr.

Promotions from E3 to E5 grade are vacancy based on seniority


cum merit basis on completion of minimum 3 yrs in each grade .

Promotions above E5 grade are vacancy based on merit cum


seniority basis. If an executive performs well he may become

Campus Selection Process
Candidates who are eligible as per abovementioned

Campus Selection process has three stages-

1) Group Discussion - Candidates will be shortlisted by group


discussion based on general/technical topics.

2) Documentation - Shortlisted candidates have to submit their


Bio-data (In prescribed format) and their credentials will be
verified from the original documents.

3) Interview - Candidates whose documentation is found okay


will be allowed for final Interview. List of finally selected
candidates will be displayed after completion of Interviews.

Posting: Any of its Subsidiary Companies in 8 States specially in Coalfield


areas. Persons willing to work in these locations are advised to apply.

Service Agreement: Appointed person will be required to undertake a


service agreement bond of Rs. 3,00,000/-, where the person is required to
serve the company for a minimum period of 60 months of service. An amount
of Rs.5000 per month will be deducted from salary for a period of 60 months
from the time of appointment. The amount will be refunded on completion of
said period of service with interest. In case of leaving the employment prior
to completion of 60 months, the amount so deducted will be forfeited. A
service agreement bond will be signed by the employee.

Based on past medical examinations, majority of the candidates having Colour


Blindness, High Myopia, Hypertension(high blood pressure), Cardiac
problems, Physical Deformity (e.g. short of index finger) and Severe Diabetic
conditions are advised not to apply.

PAY AND PERKS

Basic Pay - For Management Trainees, Basic Pay will be at


minimum of pay scale for grade E2 - Rs. 20,600 per month

Dearness Allowance - DA is currently 120.3% of Basic it is revised


every quarter as per cost of living index (AICPI All India
Consumer Price Index).

Perks & Allowances - Up to a maximum of 50% of Basic Cafeteria

LTC/LLTC - LTC - For self and dependents, once in every yr for


visiting home town, LLTC (Long leave travel concession) - Once
in a block of 4 yrs (in that yr LTC will not be available).

Medical Benefit - Unlimited free medical treatment for self and


dependents in company hospitals (upto 15,000 non-taxable),
Unlimited reimbursement of medical expenses incurred outside
company or company empaneled hospitals as per extent
medical attendance rule.

Schooling Facility - In the event of posting in Coalfield reputed


schools are available with subsidized transport facility for the
employee children.

Leased Accommodation - For officers posted at Kolkata,


Mumbai & Delhi, leased accommodation to the extent of 50%
of basic pay recovery of House Rent will be @ 10% of basic
pay. Amount of rent > 50% will be borne by the officer
concerned. Expenditure on leased accommodation shall be
considered as 30% of Basic pay for CTC. This is applicable to
Directors and Senior Executives only, when company
accommodation is not available.
POST RETIREMENT
Gratuity - As per Payment of Gratuity Act 1972 on completion of 5
yrs of service with the company with a maximum of Rs. 10 Lakhs

Post Retirement Medical Benefit - After retirement Rs. 5 Lakhs will


be covered for medical treatment of the executive and his
spouse. In addition, an amount of Rs. 10000 will be paid for regular
treatment for a period of 1 year without production of any
documents. Unlimited coverage for certain specified diseases.

Accidental Death or Permanent Total Disablement (PTD) - One


time payment of Rs. 5 Lakhs in addition to statutory and other
payments
