Student Teaching Lesson Plan Outline

Introduction
• Listening Practice (for comprehension of content)
• Length of Lesson (about 10 minutes)
• No VA Standards of Learning (no SOLs in Spanish)

Learning Objectives
Students will be able to answer questions based on the content of the phone conversations that they hear.

Teaching and Learning Sequence

This portion of the lesson plan should be divided into the segments below. Each segment should contain a bulleted list of
detailed steps. Write these steps in the imperative. Provide any student handouts used during the lesson or for homework
purposes.
• Introduction/Anticipatory Set
• for the bell ringer, students will work with a partner, using the homework from the previous class, and drill
each other on vocabulary used when speaking on the phone
• Lesson Development
• Students will listen to five (5) progressive phone conversations;
• students will answer questions on a worksheet based on the listening activity;
• teacher will play the audio once for students to hear (without using worksheet)
• teacher will play audio two (2) times and students will be asked to complete worksheet
• students will be allowed to choose whether they answer questions during audio or after audio has
finished playing
• Closure
• students work with a partner to write an original phone conversation
• conversation topic – inviting someone to do something
• each student will have a minimum of four (4) lines of dialogue excluding greetings and goodbyes.

Homework
Homework will be to learn their portion of the phone conversation written at the end of class for presentation in the next
class

Assessment
Describe and provide examples of how the evaluation of students' learning will be accomplished. Remember that
assessment(s) must be directly related to the lesson objectives.
• Formative – as students answer the questions on the worksheet, teacher will monitor participation and
completion of assignment.
• Summative – student comprehension will be assessed through the phone conversation that they write and
present with a partner. Conversations must contain an invitation similar to listening activity in class, but not of the
same subject.
