1. General
Fittings make possible the connection of structural parts directly to the fuselage, or to those components that
are attached to the fuselage.
2. Description
The fittings are made of aluminum alloy. They are machined from forgings or sheet.

(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) .

(1) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) .
(2) Depressurize the green, blue and yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) ,
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003) .
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position.

A. Removal of the Fairlead
(Ref. Fig. Fairlead SHEET 1)
(1) Remove the screws (5) and (6) and the washers (4) and (7).
(2) Remove the plate (3).
(3) Remove the fairlead (2) from the pressure plate (1).
NOTE: Put identification on each fairlead half. This will help in the installation procedure.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) .
(2) Make sure that the MLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) .
(3) Make sure that the green, blue and yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) , (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) and
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003) .
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position.
(5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position.

A. Installation of the Fairlead
(Ref. Fig. Fairlead SHEET 1)
WARNING: OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THIS/THESE MA-
TERIAL/S.
USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND A MASK.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) If the identification plates are removed:
(a) Install the identification plates.
(b) Apply Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No. 13FBB2) on the
identification plates.
(c) Apply Varnish-- - Structure Legacy (Material No. 04TMM9) on the identification plates.
(4) Put the fairlead (2) in possition. Refer to the identification made during the removal procedure.
(5) Install the plate (3) on the fairlead half (2).
(6) Install the screws (5) and (6) and the washers (4) and (7).
(7) When you install the screw (6), do an electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-007) .

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001) .
(3) Pressurize the green, blue and yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) ,
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003) .
(4) Remove the warning notice(s).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other
items.

C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002) .
