pedal,itdoesnothavetobeconstructedasrobustlyasabrakepedal.Thedrivercanstillgenerateseveralhundredpoundsforce,sotheaccelerator
pedalneedstohaveanovertravelstop,capableofwithstandingthishighlevelofforce.

NOTE:ThethrottlecableshouldNEVERbeusedasthepedalstop!TheDesignJudges(andScrutineers)alwaysliketoseeagoodpushpullcable
usedinsteadofapullcableonly.Thiscansometimessaveyourbaconifyouexperienceastuckthrottle,byallowingyoutopullthethrottleclosed
withatoeunderthepedal

GearshiftSystem
Standalone,mechanical,shiftlevershavetobedesignedstrongenoughfortheforceneededtoeffecttheshift.Soundslikeaplainlyobvious

thoughtout,requiringtoomucheffortfromthedriver.Thisnotonlymeansthattheleverhastobebuiltstronger(heavier),butalsomeansthatthe
higherforcerequiredwillfatigueyourdriversooner.

Manuallyoperatedclutchmechanismsmountedonthesteeringcolumnbringtheirownuniquesetofproblems.Thereactionforceontheleveris
throughthesteeringwheelandagainwehavetoaskhowthatforceisreactedthroughthewheelandintothesteeringcolumnandsupports.

Adrenalin,thegreatequalizer!
Ihavenotyetmentionedthislittlepoweraddercalledadrenaline.Adrenalintousislikenitrousoxideistoanengine.Yougetanincreasedpower
outputforashortperiodoftime.Whenadriverisscareditisnormaltoexperienceanincreasedadrenalinlevel.Adrenalingivesthedrivertheability
tofaroutperformanypreviouslyrecordedpeakstrengthlevels.Asaresult,allofyourcockpitcontroldevicesneedalittleextrasafetymarginjustfor
theadrenalineffect.
