BAGUIO CITY Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week issued Administrative
Order 100 following recommendations of the Traffic Management Branch of
the Baguio City Police Office for improvement of traffic along Gen. Luna and
Upper Mabini Street.
After assessment of the traffic situation, TMB head Supt. James Allan Logan,
in a letter addressed to the mayor earlier gave his recommendations.
To restore the strictly no parking policy from Gen. Luna Assumption
road intersection towards Magsaysay Ave. - Gen. Luna road intersection.
One lane parallel parking left side along Upper Mabini from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. daily to coincide with the one-way scheme along Assumption-Gen. Luna
intersection up to Gen. Luna-Bonifacio intersection.
Strictly no parking at the right side of Upper Mabini.
The one unit TudingBua Express PUJ unit along Gen. Luna will be
relocated near the entrance of Victoria Supermart, Upper Mabini as
temporary loading and unloading area; and
Removal of potted plants and bahaykubo, which causes obstruction of
said road.
Signages shall be prepared and installed where needed.
Earlier, during the Transportation and Traffic Management Committee
meeting, it was agreed the truck ban and number coding being implemented
within the city stays as is.
There have been requests for exemptions, it was known.
Other requests for exemptions are focused on the odd-even scheme,
motorcycle ban which has been denied outright, for consistency, the mayor
said.
Requests for additional out-of-town transport lines were also endorsed to the
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
On improved bus loading and unloading at Gov. Pack road, the mayor tasked
the City Engineers, Traffic Management Branch-Baguio City Police Office and
coordinate with the barangay officials to observe minor changes and
implement such, if needed.
Low-hanging utility cables along Gov. Pack road which were seen to come in
contact with the top portions of vehicles, were also referred to the respective
companies.
