Thay shall nat apply to sprayed concrete surfaces. Ifthe flatness of surfaces is to be subject to more stringent requirements (ct. lines 2, 4 and 7 of table 3), this shall be agreed on in the bill of quantities. Where the depth af masonry is equal to the thickness of a brick, the flatness tolerances shall only apply tothe fair fa Where walls, floors, ceilings, screed and floorings have finished surfaces, jogs shall be avoided except where such features are part of the design LJogs between adjacent components shall be dealt with soparatoly, The permitted deviations from flatness for construction materials shall be taken into account separately as they are not included in the flatness tolerances specified here. Measurement of angles shall also be from these points. Where rooms ate not rectangular in shape, the line of measurement shall be at right angles to @ reference line Measurements shall be taken at two leve's (cf. figure 5), 10 em from the floor and 10 om from the esiling brik Fak Page 6 DIN 18202 : 1997.04 6.1.4 Measuring points for clear dimensions in elevation (\able 1, gtoup 4) ‘Measurements shall be taken 10 cm from comers. The same measuring points shall be used to check angles. Where walls or columns are not vertical, the line of ‘measurement shall bo at right angles to a reference line ‘A room shall be measured taking two measuring points each 10 em from the wall (cf. figure 8). Clear heights under joists shall be measured at both edges 10 om from the edge of the support Figure 5: Checking of width 6.1.5 Measuring points for openings (table 1, groups § and 6) Measuring points shall be taken 10 em from the comers, as specified in subclauses 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 6.2 Flatness tolerances Flatness shall be checked by taking measurements at individual measuring points (2.9. random checks as shown in figure 6) or by moasuring the distances between measuring points arranged in @ rid and @ reference plane. The grid shall be measured out Distances between measuring points shall be selected on the lines of those shown in figures 6 and 7. Strsightedge The straightedge shall be placed on the highest points on the surface and the position deviation measured at the lowest point Page 7 DIN 18202 : 1997-04 Actual 8 Figure 7: Determination of actual devietions by measurement of surface levels, ‘To measure surface levels, the surface shall be divided into a grid (e.g. wih grid linas at intervals of 10 om, 60 om, i'm, 2m, etc), The measurements shall be taken where gid lines intersect. In this example, for the section between points of intersection 4 and 6, the position deviation shall be measured atthe point of intersaction situated at lavel 5, and for the section between poinis of intersection 5 and 10, the position deviation shall be measured at the leve! situated at point of intersection 7. Explanatory notes In the following, the survey reference system for determining actual deviations from structural sizes is explained. ‘The reference system by which to survay the building can be established in terms of position and height trom fixed points. To ensure that any surveying deviations do not affect the coordinate system) of the structure or the actual deviations inherent in the structure, one point of the reference system should be agreed as the absolute point of origin, 0, on plan and in elevation. As a rule, this point should be a point of intersection. The position of the absolute point of origin shall be such that, even alter completion of the building, it remains, for survaying purposes, clearly marked, secure and accessible. The orientation of the reference system is determined by a second agreed peint which should, if possible, be situated on a line of the raference system which runs through the point of origin (cf. figure 8). This second point shall satisfy the same criteria as the point of origin. The point of origin and the orientation of the reference system aro to be referred to when measuring the actual deviations of the building and its structural parts *) CA DIN 18000, baits Page & DIN 18202 : 1997-04 IN | ‘Components, Grid tine of coordinate plane L 1 } i I i ! | | | | I 1 | 1 I t t | i Survey reference system > o- Figure 8: Survey reference system Other relevant standards.
