These tables are based on the results of NAPLAN tests for NSW primary and secondary schools released yesterday by the Federal Government. The
first two columns name the school and its location. The State Ranking is the rank the school achieved based on an average of its results for reading,
writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation and numeracy in years 3 and 5 for primary schools, and years 7 and 9 for high schools.
The fourth column is the ranking of the school by the Government's index of community socio-economic educational advantage (ICSEA).
The rankings for each individual area; reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation and numeracy as measured by its NAPLAN results in year 5, in
the case of primary schools, and year 9, in the case of secondary schools.
Not all schools conducted NAPLAN tests or have results. For example infant schools do not hold the tests. Not all schools gained an overall ranking
because of incomplete test data. Some schools ICSEA data is not available.
The Heralds tables of more than 3000 NSW primary and secondary schools published on Friday omitted some schools due to a technical error. Below is
an updated list of schools. If you pick up other errors, please contact our Readerlink service, readerlink@smh.com.au or 92821569. We appreciate all
feedback and apologise for any inaccuracies.
