The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the
worlds leader in the search for a cure
for cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening
genetic disease that causes persistent
lung infections and progressively limits
the ability to breathe. In people with
cystic fibrosis (CF), a defective gene
causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the
lungs, pancreas and other organs. In
the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways
and traps bacteria leading to infections,
extensive lung damage and eventually,
respiratory failure. CF affects about
30,000 children and adults in the United
States and 70,000 people worldwide.
About 1,000 new cases of CF are
diagnosed each year, more than 75
percent of people with CF are
diagnosed by age 2 and nearly half of
the CF population is age 18 or older.
There is still no cure.
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and
to provide all people with the disease
the opportunity to lead full, productive
lives by funding research and drug
development, promoting individualized
treatment, and ensuring access to
high-quality, specialized care. Through
the Cystic Fibrosis Foundations efforts,
the life expectancy of people with CF
has doubled in the past 30 years and
research to find a cure is more
promising than ever.
Philadelphias Finest
benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
The Delaware Valley Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is pleased to
announce the fifth annual Philadelphias Finest, an event honoring Philadelphias
Finest young professionals; those who show exemplary leadership, are active in
their communities, and who have excelled in their profession or business. The
professional men and women who participate will be given the opportunity to
display their community involvement and highlight their professional
achievements, while raising funds to help support the many initiatives funded by
the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Each honoree that makes a commitment to help
the Foundation make CF stand for Cure Found, will be recognized for their
fundraising efforts at the Philadelphias Finest Finale cocktail and elite networking
celebration on June 16, 2017.

2016 Philadelphias Finest Honorees
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has unrestricted financial reserves of about 12
times its budgeted annual expenses, following a one-time royalty sale in 2014.
These funds, along with the publics continuing support, are needed to help
accelerate our efforts to pursue a lifelong cure for this fatal disease, develop
lifesaving new therapies and help all people with CF live full, productive lives. To

HONOREE CRITERIA Complete and turn in the nomination acceptance form

Each honoree must:
Demonstrate leadership
Be successful in their chosen careers
Be between 21 and 45 years of age
Exhibit dedication to assisting organizations to better
the lives of others
HONOREE BENEFITS
Helping to save lives of children and adults with cystic
fibrosis, a life threatening disease, by raising funds and
awareness on behalf of the CF Foundation
Recognition as a community leader in business and
philanthropy
Networking with other elite young professionals
Having a significant award on your resume and
business and social networking sites
Highlighted as an honoree in the local CFF chapter
web site, social media and e-news
Featured in local media such as magazines, news
papers, radio, television, community web sites and
other social media sites
Recognized on stage as one of the successful
honorees and Delaware Valleys top young
professionals at the finale event
Receiving the CFF Philadelphias Finest Young
Professional award plaque
Eligible for prizes based upon fundraising success
THE NOMINATION PROCESS
Nomination forms are posted online and in other
appropriate areas for community and self nominations
A nominating committee reviews all nominations and inter-
views potential candidates if needed
The committee will notify those chosen and mentor them
throughout the campaign
and questionnaire to CF Foundation
Submit a short bio and photo
Fundraise $2,500 by the finale
Sell a minimum of five (5) tickets which will count to-
wards your fundraising goal
Secure two (2) silent auction items, each appraised at
a minimum of $100, on or before June 1, 2017
In addition to the financial commitments, each
Honoree is asked to:
Attend the campaign kick-off
Attend a one-on-one fundraising meeting with your CF
Foundation mentor
Attend the Finest Finale on June 16, 2017
Support fellow honorees in their CF Foundation
awareness and fundraising campaigns
Be available for pre and post media promotions,
including group Honoree photo
Additional Opportunities:
Be an active alumni for the 2018 Philadelphia's Finest
campaign
Attend various networking and business development
events set up by the Foundation
Attend different honoree created fundraising and
networking events
Network at a CF Board Meeting
Volunteer at Philadelphias Great Strides walk
Participate in a group tour of a CF Care Center
Network and connect with other honorees and
members of the committee

IMPORTANT NOTE ON ATTENDANCE AT FOUNDATION

EVENTS:
To reduce the risk of getting and spreading germs at CF Foundation-sponsored events, we ask that everyone follow basic best practices by regularly
cleaning your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow and
maintaining a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.

Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact, as well as through droplets that travel
short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung function. To further
help reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundations attendance policy recommends inviting only one person with CF to an indoor Foundation-
sponsored event at a specific time. This is a non-smoking event.
