GAE Director Top is a 2-way-active, 60 x 40 twin-coaxial high Q
loudspeaker system comprising two specially constructed 12 cone
drivers with 4 voice coil diameter, 220mm ceramic magnets and a
1,4 Neodymium-compression driver with 3 titan membrane in a
horn loading.
The outstandingly compact high tone driver allows an extremely

tight installation of the loudspeakers chassis. Thereby the 12 horn
drivers are mounted as close as possible above each other whereas
the compact horn/driver combination is located in the middle and
directly in front of the drivers. This grouping is acoustically perfect
and achieved by a very elegant construction.
Only a few screws have to be disconnected and the backside of the

Director Top can be removed, thus a quick access to the system
driver is obtained. With the help of a high voltage plug the rear
cover including the connection terminal can be dismounted which
simplifies the service.
The mid horns mouth spans the whole front side. Two phase plugs which are installed in front of the
mid tone drivers ensure an optimal compression rate.
To avoid interfering reflections the form of the phase plugs has been optimised in a way that
together with the high frequency horn they build a homogeneous unity. This way sound parts which
are deflected at the edge of the HF-horn are kept from colliding with the middle horn thereby
creating interferences. The hemispheric ends of the phase plugs barricade the way of misguided
reflections which leads to an early and diffuse diversion without negative consequences for the
frequency- and impulse response. Due to this elaborate mechanical construction an outstanding
frequency response of the mid- and high-tone bandwidth is achieved. The interaction of the different

and Bass, forming a modular and extremely flexible completion to
the Director Series. The enclosure is of very elaborate dimensions,
thus two Single-Basses put on top of each other offer an optimal
working height for the top-unit for lots of applications. In
comparison with the Director Bass the Single Bass offers a lower
tuning frequency achieved by an increased enclosure volume and
thus obtains an even lower sub-low-fundament. The Director Bass-S
in combination with the Director Bass then at a nominal
impedance of round about 2ohms allows a state-of-the-art
amplifier to proof its capability.
When Director Top elements are flown and remote Director Bass systems are used for ground

The System-series of GAE consists of a construction-kit of different loudspeaker-systems that can

substitute standard elements currently popular. These sound reinforcement systems represent an
enormous flexibility as well as a perfect design and up-to-date acoustic characteristics. The
loudspeakers assimilate to their environment always offering a brilliant acoustic result. Because
its the interaction of the small details that makes visions become innovations.
System 6
The GAE System 6 is an extremely compact passive 2-way system with high power
capacity. Because of its manageable and unintrusive construction the loudspeaker is applicable to a
great number of tasks.
The 6 transducer is vented and enables high loading capacity. The high frequencies are transmitted
by a horn-loaded 1 compression driver. This combination produces a convincingly natural sound
and a perfect audibility. In comparison with other high frequency loudspeakers the System 6
produces significantly less distortion at high sound pressure levels. An elaborate passive crossover
subdivides the input signal in low/mid and high frequency range thereby providing an extraordinarily
mellow and natural sound.
The multi-layered, birch-ply enclosure is sealed with a black structure varnish by standard. Different
RAL colours are available. The loudspeakers baffle and its components are protected by a solid
metal front grill which is covered by a stylish acoustic foam. On demand this foam can be delivered
in different colours.
For mounting with optional accessories the System 6 enclosure has been supplies with M8 threaded
shafts (2 on the right side, 1 on the bottom and 1 on the top). Two M6 threaded shafts on the back
allow an attachment of an optional wall mounting kit UB6/w. If needed a 35mm stand flange can be
attached to the underneath in combination with UB6/v.
The connectors are of the Neutrik Speakon NL4 type. An connection diagram on the back describes
the internal switching. The 16ohms nominal impedance enables a simple linking of numerous

The GAE System 62 is a twin-coaxial fullrange loudspeaker
system, equipped with two 6,5" Neodymium cone driver
and an 1" horn/driver combination. The system ist
characterized by natural sound, equable frequency response

function of the corrective passive crossover lead to an
extremely high efficiency, best dynamics and a

System 10
The GAE System 10 is a compact passive two way

system that can be put to various applications. It excels in natural recording characteristics, a linear
frequency response curve in the whole spectre of transmission and a high power-handling capacity.
The loudspeaker components are placed in a multifunctional enclosure that is only 535x330x300mm
small. The HF-sound is emitted in an angle of 90 x 50. The horn construction has been
manufactured from metal and is extremely resistant to mechanical influence. The horn can be 90
rotated which allows an adjustment of the irradiation to a horizontal or vertical mounting.
The 10 loudspeaker is situated in a vented enclosure and disposes of a power handling capacity of
200W according to IEC-norm 268-5. Due to an extremely high peak load capacity sound pressure
levels up to 120dB (1m) can be obtained.
The System 10 is suitable as f.o.h.-loudspeaker for the near field application (among other
possibilities as wedge with a positioning angle of 45) and as delay-line loudspeaker for big
audience events. The multi-layered, birch-ply enclosure is sealed with a black structure varnish by

The GAE ProStage 121M is a vented, passive full-range

loudspeaker system designed for all popular monitor-applications. It incorporates a 12 cone driver
and a horn loaded 1 compression driver. The passive crossover network is optimally adjusted to the
speaker components, specifically developed to meet the monitors characteristics and sufficiently
equipped for high-power handling. The HF-driver is protected from overloading by a maintenance
free overloading-limiter which guarantees a high operational safety.
Outfitted with a large basis the PS121M displays a high stability being at the same time almost
invisible to the audience. The sound characteristics are: a high dissolution and a low feedback. Thus
an excellent efficiency is achieved.
The 1 cone driver is attached to a 75 x 90 horn and usually produced as right version. On request
a mirrored (left) version can be delivered.

To transport the PS121M without it being top heavy two carrying handles have been integrated on
the side walls whereas the polyamide standing-feet offer a firm position. Yet on stage the monitor

WARRANTY / QC
GAE offers on all systems (excluding electronics and typical wear parts) an extended warranty. You
can be sure that before and after its installation each particular component has been thoroughly
tested. GAEs quality standards are that strict that only especially chosen suppliers are able to meet
them. Before leaving the production each product is tested on technical faults individually. Please
refer to your distributors appointments regarding warranty on GAE products.
SOLIDBOX-DESIGN
With GAE all enclosures are built and developed according to state-of the-art mechanical criteria.
This piece of masterwork recompenses its owner by an extremely long life-cycle. Only high quality
birch multiplex with a high complexity is used, as each single layer is turned by 90 an outstanding
stiffness is guaranteed. Even the material thickness is matched to the loudspeakers requirements
layers of 15 36mm thickness are employed. All baffles are additionally attached to the enclosure
by a special groove/feather construction.
HIGH EFFICIENCY CROSSOVER DESIGN

SR-PROTECTION
Each GAE crossover network is optimized for the driver employed and offers a high power handling

V/H ADJUST HF-HORN
The HF compression driver is attached to a 90 x 75 horn. The horns construction allows a 90

rotation thus the irradiation characteristics can be adjusted to a horizontal or vertical employment.
DIRECT METAL MOUNTING
Each mounting of a vertical yoke follows the principle: metal to metal. The threads employed are
constructed in a way that allows the yoke to be attached to a metal part connected with the thread.
There are no metal/wood contacts otherwise this would mean a loss in stability with the time of
usage.
TWIN COAX
The outstandingly compact high tone driver allows an extremely tight installation of the
loudspeakers chassis. Thereby the 12 horn drivers are mounted as close as possible above each
other whereas the compact horn/driver combination is located in the middle and directly in front of
the drivers. Only by this grouping real spot-acoustic-source is enabled.
16 OHMS
An input impedance of 16ohms allows the application of several systems to one amplifiers channel
without damaging the amplifier. For an easy parallel connection according to the Daisy-Chain-
Principle the loudspeaker system offers connectors of the Neutrik NL4 Speakon type.

GLOSSARY
RDH (Rain Drain Handle)
A special construction of the carrying recesses guarantees the draining of accidentally poured
rainwater no matter whether the systems are used standing or lying.
OUTER FRAME
If two loudspeaker systems are flown beneath each other, the integrated lifting studs are extremely
stressed. Commonly drive-in nuts are integrated into the enclosure, which then (together with the
top respectively the bottom) have to carry the whole weight of the construction. Using such a
construction very often means to leave legal ways, disregarding security-concerns. GAE offers the
so-called Outer Frame Construction: the fittings lie above the enclosures like a frame , carrying the

MAX.AB
The optimised enclosure design offers a 90% utilization of the loudspeakers front as emitter
consisting of loudspeaker membrane and resonators vent. The ventilation channels have been
arranged in a way that allows them to stiffen the enclosure and at the same time cool the drivers
magnets.
HIGH STATIC SYMMETRICAL LOAD
Both driver chassis are symmetrically enclosed by a novel ventilation channel and the side walls and
thereby symmetrically loaded. Because of this construction swaying movements of the membrane
are reduced to a minimum whereas the output power is raised to a maximum. The huge ventilation
channel ensures an excellent bass reflex effectiveness without compression effects and at the same
time compounds the baffles static.

The GAE BR systems are outfitted with different footprints, which allow a flexible mounting of
several full-range/subwoofer loudspeakers.
