LIQUID LINE FILTER DRIER DCH SERIES (SOLID CORE TYPE)

Liquid line filter driers are used to capture particulates, absorb moisture and eliminate acids from liquid refrigerants and POE oils. Removing moisture from systems
has become a higher priority with the advent of HFC refrigerants. This is because the POE oil used with HFC refrigerants is highly hygroscopic. As the moisture is
absorbed, it breaks down the oil producing acid, which will damage the system.
The DCH series of molded core filter driers have been designed specifically for HFC refrigerant systems. The DCH core is a composite of carefully selected desiccant
materials which are firmly and permanently bonded together. Uniform grains of activated aluminium oxide and molecular sieves are mixed with a low content
binder, this is then poured into a mould and oven baked to create the rugged solid core. DCH core filter driers are designed for used in liquid line refrigeration, ultra
low temperature applications, air-conditioning systems and for mobile refrigeration.

DESIGN FEATURES:
The unique desiccant blend and manufacturing process of the solid cores which are used in the DCH series of filter driers gives the range the following unique
features:-
1. The DCH series of filter dryers are uniformly effective across the entire solid core at capturing moisture and acid. Hydrochloric, hydrofluoric and various
organic acids, which are corrosive and harmful to equipment and systems, are removed and held safely in the desiccant.
2. The solid core found with the DCH series also provides excellent deep filtration, capturing and retaining particles as small as 10 microns, without causing
unacceptable high pressure drops.
3. No contaminates, moisture or acid are able to bypass the solid core, as it is sealed to the drier shell wall.
4. The high degree of moisture capacity of the DCH series, means that the core removes large amounts of water in a single pass, thereby protecting the
expansion valve from freezing up and minimising the risk of acid formation in the system.
5. Approved for use with all CFC, HCFC and HFC refrigerants.
6. The DCH series features an ultra strong metal body, with the sections welded together using gas metal arc welding. The gas used in this process protects the
welding area from nitrogen and oxygen, which can cause fusion defects, porosity and weld metal embrittlement. The inlet and outlet connections are joined
to the body using atmospherically controlled furnace brazing, which results in the strongest and most reliable joints. This manufacturing process results in
the DCH series having a high working pressure, making them ideally suited to new refrigerants such as R410A. The DCH Series of filter driers have a 653 PSIG
(45 bar) safe working pressure and a burst pressure of 3265 PSIG (224 bar).
7. Spring cushioning at the inlet protects the solid block from rough handling and makes it highly vibration resistant, minimising the risk of dust formation caused
by damage to the solid core.
8. The components, used in Dry All filter dryers, are cleaned, degreased and passivated for rust protection in a unique 9 tank cleaning process. This ensures no
contaminants are present in the finished product, which could potentially damage the system.
9. Dry All filter driers are leak checked twice during production to ensure quality. The first leak check occurs after the shell has been welded, the second check
occurs after the filter drier has been powder coated.
10. Dry All filter dryers are painted using an epoxy powder coating process. This provides them with superior corrosion protection, meaning that they can be
used in all environments no matter how adverse.
11. All SAE type DCH Driers are filled with positive pressure nitrogen and capped at the end of the manufacturing process. This prevents moisture from entering
the drier and the presence of pressure in the filter dryer when opening also confirms that it is leak free.

REPLACEABLE FILTER DRIER CORES

With the advent of new HFC refrigerants, the need to remove moisture from systems has become a far higher priority. This is because synthetic oil such as
Polyolester, which are used with HFC refrigerants, are highly hygroscopic. If there is moisture in the system it will be absorbed by the oil, causing it to break down,
resulting in acid - which will damage the system.

The solid, moulded core used in the Dry All Universal Replacement Filter Drier series is a composite of carefully selected desiccant materials which are firmly and
permanently bonded together. Uniform grains of activated aluminium oxide and molecular sieves are mixed with a low content binder, this is then poured into a
mould and oven baked to create a rugged solid core which will capture moisture, eliminate acids and trap contaminants.

DESIGN FEATURES

1. High degree of activation in the core gives it maximum water retention capacity, excellent acid removal characteristics and the ability to remove the by-
products of oil decomposition.
2. The uniform grains, which are of the optimum size, gives the porous core a large surface area. This results in the triple filtration of the refrigerant, allowing it
to catch large amounts of dirt with only a negligible pressure drop.
3. The moulded core has a uniform porosity throughout its entire length and surface. This results in the core being able to remove large amounts of water in a
single pass, thereby protecting the expansion valve from freezing up and minimising the risk of acid formation within the system.
4. The replaceable solid core has the ability to withstand pressure surges, and therefore vibration and attrition is not a concern.
5. Approved for use with all CFC, HCFC and HFC refrigerants.
6. Dry All replaceable solid cores provide superior suction line compressor protection.
7. All Dry All replaceable solid cores are individually packed in metal cans then hermetically sealed against moisture and dirt to preserve freshness.
8. Standard sizes means that it is easy to install them in existing systems.

DC-48:

DB-48:
Burn out cleanup solid core filter dryer suitable for HCFC, HFC and CFC refrigerants, mineral & polyester oils. This has been specifically designed to clean up systems
which have had a major hermetic burn out.

DA-48

SUCTION LINE FILTERS

DESIGN FEATURES

1. Provides excellent protection and highly effective filtration to the compressor valves, reeds or any working parts, from circulating dirt and solid contaminants,
at a moderate cost.
2. Dry All replaceable pleated or stainless steel filter elements are suitable for installation in the desiccant core shell for cleaning up after a burnout, if use
correctly.
3. The materials used in Dry All suction filters allows for a high flow, with only a minimal pressure drop.
4. Dry All Suction Filters give the compressor protection if the lines require cutting or brazing, which could potentially introduce contaminants.
5. The design of Dry All Suction Line Filters ensures lubricant compatibility and flow velocity, whilst not acting as an oil trap.
6. The pleated element in the DP 48 BD offers 6 times the surface area of previous designs, resulting in filtration down to 40 microns.
7. The perforated metal tubes around the inside and outside diameter of the element makes Dry All suction line filters suitable for use in either flow direction
and in a horizontal or vertical position.
8. Approved for use with all CFC, HCFC and HFC refrigerants and lubricants.
9. Each filter is individually packed in a fully sealed can, to protect against dirt and preserve freshness.

DPE 48 BD
This filter is designed to be used on the suction line of large tonnage systems, in conjunction with a separate solid core filter to collect the acid and moisture. This
filter helps to remove solid contaminates that may be in the system at start up. This protects the compressor from dirt, copper chips, copper oxides, metal chips
and other solid contamination, therefore extending the life of the system.

DSS 48
This filter is a bi-directional, universal & reuseable stainless steel cartridge for the filtration of solid contamination. This filter is designed to be used for the clean
up of systems which have had a major hermetic burn out. Once the majority of the debris has been captured, the filter should be removed, cleaned and put away
for the next use. Once it has been removed, install one of the replaceable filter cores in its place.
