Conclusions Drawn & Limitations

According to our 76 results, we can conclude that about 21% of those who responded to
our survey had divorced parents, while the other 79% had married parents, except one special
case in which his or her parents were never married. With the 21% whose parents are divorced,
75% of them said their views on marriage have changed because of this. When asked to explain
how their views on marriage had changed, the majority responded negatively. (ie. skeptical about
love). The limitations of our study included the fact that we had an unequal distribution of
responses between gender and generation. We also did not have an equal distribution between
married and divorced parents, and because of this, the responses to household conditions was
skewed. We do not have enough data to determine if age of marriage has increased or decreased
throughout the generations. It is hard to accurately determine what generation we are a part of
mainly because we are not at an age to get married. Itll be interesting to see how the class of
2017 changes the trend of marriage and divorce and children.
