In their drafts of the film, the filmmakers made several changes based on reviewing rough cuts of footage. They simplified repeated mirror shots of the main character to two shots to avoid confusion. They also changed the location from the character's house to their school. Some handheld shots meant to convey panic were removed for looking amateur. Voiceover and a psychiatrist scene were later added to clarify the stalker plot. Classroom shots replaced outdoor phone call footage to improve video quality of important scenes.
