I Shaikat Saha am writing this this letter to inform you of my interest on studying in Sweden and
also acknowledge you that I am one of the candidate for Swedish Institute Study Scholarship.
I am from Bangladesh and I have completed my BSc in engineering degree from Independent
University Bangladesh majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. My interest of study
was power systems. Bangladesh is a developing country and for last few years we have improved
a lot in power sector. Though it is not yet enough as consumers are increasing every day and our
current power generation cannot cope up with the increased consumer. I have applied for MSc in
Electrical Power Engineering in Sweden. After my masters program I can implement my
knowledge to optimize the problem we are having right now and contributing to the overall
development of the country.
After completing my masters program I will definitely try for PhD program. As I have
mentioned before my goal is to contribute in the power sector of my country and as we all know
PhD is entirely a research based program so there I can research about how to getting over the
problem I am working on and I can implement my research based result to minimize the problem
as much as possible. I have another plan in mind which is to get on the field directly after my
masters program and handle the situation with the knowledge I have gained.
I currently hold Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from
Independent University Bangladesh having CGPA of 3.89 on 4 scale. At the end of my BSc
program I went through two major internship in two reputed company in my country. I have
done internship in Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills (BSRM) which is a top manufacturing
industry and Banglalink Telecom Ltd. Which is one the leading telecom company in Bangladesh.
I have also actively participated on many volunteering work which has given me opportunity to
earn leadership and management skills. I have also worked as shift engineer in Navana Ltd.
which helped me to take responsibility and managing office environment.
I am an effective participator of many volunteering work including Youth Voice which works on
development of young generation and bringing out leadership quality of them. Then a NGO
which is non-profit organization that helps poor people in rural area by supplying sanitary
products, building storm shelter and setting up solar power on houses. Finally a church where
people come every day.
Based on my above mentioned circumstances and motivation, I therefore pray that you would be
kind enough to grant me the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship and oblige thereby. It would be
an honor to continue my masters program in Sweden with Swedish Institute Study Scholarship.
