Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel and currently

developed by Google.

Android was built from the ground up with the explicit goal to first open,complete and free

platefrom created specifically from the mobile devices[5].Android is an open system and is

free to use by anyone.Android is designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as

smartphones and tablet computers, with specialized user interfaces for televisions (Android

TV), cars (Android Auto), and wrist watches (Android Wear) [1]. It is a open source

system,so no need to any license to use it.

Android comes in many forms and shapes.At first it was founded in Palo Alto, California in

October 2003 by Andy Rubin (co-founder of Danger), Rich Miner (co-founder of Wildfire

Communications., Inc.),Nick Sears (once VP at T-Mobile),and Chris White (headed design

and interface development at WebTV) . Google acquired Android Inc. on August 17, 2005.In

2010, Google launched there owned product Nexus and every year google launched

androied new version in nexus.

The main hardware platform for Android is the ARM architecture (ARMv7 or later,

Android 5.0 also supports ARMv8-A), with x86 and MIPS architectures also officially

supported. Both 64-bit and 32-bit variants of all three architectures are supported since the

release of Android 5.0. Since 2012, Android devices with Intel processors began to appear,

including phones and tablets.Android devices incorporate many optional hardware

components, including still or video cameras, GPS, orientation sensors, dedicated gaming

controls, accelerometers, gyroscopes, barometers, magnetometers, proximity sensors,

pressure sensors, thermometers, and touchscreens[1].

Android is more popular for it application. Lot of version in it application system. People

easily use social network application such as

facebook,google+,twitter,whatsapp,viber,skype,instagram etc in android device. Multimedia

application also comfortable in android. Lot of secretory application in android. Data

transferring apps(bluetooth,shareit,zapya)are more advanced in android. Educational

application also available in android devies ,user easily use this apps. Most entertaining part

of android is its multimedia and graphical games.

The Android Market was an online store offering software applications designed for Android

devices. Users gain access to the Android Market through its website or the Market

application installed on Android mobile devices.As of March 2012, Google reorganized the

Android Market into Google Play. Applications are available through Google Play either free

of charge or at a cost[3]. At the moment 1,300,000 lakh application available in google play

store and user already download 50 billion apps.

the world. It's the largest installed base of any mobile platform and growing fastevery day

another million users power up their Android devices for the first time and start looking for

apps, games, and other digital content[1]. T-Mobile G1 First-ever Android device had quirky

design elements like the swing-out keyboard and the "chin".HTC Hero First CDMA Android

phone offered HTC Sense interface(4). In 2010, Google launched their owns android devies

Nexus.HTC collaborated with Google to release the first Nexus smartphone the Nexus

One[1].

Android is a much more diverse operating system than iOS and Windows Phone Mobile.

Android has grown rapidly over the past 4 years becoming the most used smartphone

operating system in the world. It's because Android doesn't release 1 phone from 1 company

with 1 new OS every year, but countless phones from numerous companies, adding their own

twist, throughout the year, developing gradually day-by-day. Android's ability to customize is

unparalleled compared to Apple's and Microsoft's software allowing the user to change and

customize nearly every aspect of Android which most iPhone and Windows 7 users wouldn't

dream possible. I am not one to say that Android is better or worse than one OS, but is unique

and incomparable to other mobile operating systems.
