CHAPTER 3

3.1 Methodology of Research

This study will use experimental design to determine the effectiveness of the
proposed project , Building Roundabout in EDSA- Aurora. Interview will be used to
gather data and information.

3.2 Population Frame and Sample size

The population includes traffic enforcer, MMDA officers, Licensed Engineer and and

motorist in EDSA-Aurora. The population will only comprised of car driver who always take the

EDSA- Aurora Intersection Blvd. and selected traffic enforcer and MMDA Officers. Hence, the

traffic enforcers and MMDA Officers that are not assigned to the said place will not be included

in this study. Population sample is comprised of 10 drivers, 2 traffic enforcers, 2 MMDA officer

or staff and a licensed engineer.

3.3 Description of the Respondents

1. The respondents are sets of people including traffic enforcer, MMDA Officer, motorist and

engineer.

2. Evaluation should be done along EDSA-Aurora Blvd. Intersection if the respondents are

traffic enforcers and car drivers, in other hand selected MMDA staff should be interviewed in

MMDA Office.

3. Each of the respondents should participate by answering the list of questions the researchers

prepared.

3.4 Instrumentation
This experimental study in EDSA-Aurora Intersection will use interview method and

hedonic rating scale to answer and rate the sets of questions regarding to the respondents point

of view about the effectiveness and development of the proposed design. Codes, proper tools and

right venue for sensory evaluation will be given to prevent the respondents for being bias.

3.6 Data Gathering

The researchers provide a proposed design of EDSA-Auroa Intersection to be evaluated

by the motorist, traffic enforcers and MMDA Staff along the EDSA-Auroa Intersection. The

estimation for the accomplishment of this study depends on their answers.

To demonstrate the purpose of the study, interview was utilized especially the Hedonic

Scale.
