Global Warming

Global warming is the rise in temperature of the earths surface caused by the increased output
(emissions) of greenhouse gases, such as; carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide,
hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and sulfur hexafluoride in the atmosphere.

Carbon dioxide pollution comes from fossil fuel power plants increasing dependence on
electricity from fossil-fueled power plants that result in increasing the release of carbon dioxide
gas into the atmosphere from burning the remainder. This requirement will further continue to
increase every day. Apparently, the business alternative to fossil energy use should be
implemented immediately.

The carbon dioxide pollution comes from burning gasoline for transportation
Other source of carbon dioxide pollution that comes from motor vehicle engines. Moreover, the
situation is aggravated by the fact that demand for motor vehicles annually will increasingly
continue to increase along with the increase in human population is growing very rapidly. It takes
awareness of everyone to wear a vehicle or public transportation, in order to reduce pollution
resulting from combustion.

Methane from livestock and agriculture

Methane is the cause of the greenhouse effect. This gas can come from organic materials that are
broken down by bacteria in conditions of lack of oxygen, such as in the area of rice fields. This
process can also occur in the intestines of livestock, along with the increasing number of
population of livestock, resulting in increasing production of methane gas released into the
atmosphere.

Illegal logging of trees

Frequent increase in the use of wood from the tree as the base material make us more realize the
decrease of number of trees. Forests grow increasingly narrow due to switching functions, and
logging. In fact, the very important function of forests is as the lungs of the world and to recycle
the carbon dioxide released in the atmosphere.

Excessive use of chemical fertilizers

Nowadays, the use of fertilizer is increasing, whereas chemical fertilizer is harmful to the
environment. It must be known that chemical fertilizers containing nitrogen oxide gas content
which incidentally has a capacity 300 times hotter than the carbon dioxide gas. So we have to use
it wisely.

The greenhouse effect

The whole energy sources that exist on earth comes from the suns energy is mostly in the form
of short-wave radiation. When the energy is up in the earths surface, the energy will be
converted into heat that can warm the earth. But not all heat up in the earths surface will be
absorbed, partly are reflected back into space. However, most of the reflected heat remains
trapped in the Earths atmosphere that cause buildup of greenhouse gases (such as carbon
dioxide, sulfur dioxide, methane and water vapor). This happens because the gas is able to
absorb and reflects heat energy in the form of wave radiation emitted by the earth. So
consequently the heat energy stored earlier will continue on the earths surface. This process will
continue to occur from time to time, and as a result, the average temperature at the earths
surface is rising. Where the greenhouse model of both houses, mainly buildings or places that use
the concept of building glass can reflect light into the air / atmosfer, instead of absorbing
sunlight. So the impact of the greenhouse concept is very influential on the increase as well as
the increase of global warming. Actually there are many factors that cause global warming and
those are some of them.

There are some of the consequences of global warming, such as an increase in sea levels around
the world. Scientists are predicting an increase in sea levels around the world due to the melting
of two massive ice sheets are in Antarctica and Greenland. Countries around the world will
experience the harmful effects of this sea level rise. Many islands are sinking due to rising sea
levels. Then, the consequence of global warming is the increase of the intensity of hurricanes.
Storms will increase, supported by the evidence that has been discovered by scientists that global
warming will cause a significant rise in temperature and sea temperature. This will lead to an
increase in wind speed which can lead to a strong storm.

The next consequence is the decline in agriculture production due to crop failure. Decreasing
agricultural food production as a result of crop failure is caused by global warming that trigger
climate change and the weather is less conducive to the plant. The last consequence of global
warming is the ecosystem will be destroyed. The consequences of climate change caused by
global warming will destroy the existing ecosystem.
