A TRAINING MANUAL
Written by
Kelly A. Hill
Through the Prostitution Intervention Project this has been achieved. The phenomenal
success of this program is attributed to the combined efforts and contributions received
from the community, the clients of Sisters Offering Support and the many survivors of
prostitution. These people provided feedback and input from the planning stages of the
program to the actual curriculum development.
The Training Manual was created to help professionals to understand the victimology of
prostitution in order to better serve their clients and to help governmental and non-
governmental organizations expand and improve their services to prostituted women and
adolescents.
Segments of this manual, particularly sections 2 4, include excerpts adapted from The
Paul & Lisa Program, Inc., Holistic Health Education Program, which is a community-
court intervention program for prostituted women. Being that our fundamental
philosophies, understanding and approaches to this population are similar, we wanted to
incorporate their great efforts.
Technical Assistance and on-site trainings are available by both the Paul & Lisa Program
and Sisters Offering Support to train professionals and to implement the concept of the
program.
