YES / NO QUESTIONS

Do you speak German? he asked me.

Are you British or American? he asker her.

Did you watch TV last night she asked him.

Can you come to our party tonight? they asked us.

These questions are usually reported by using ask (or a similar reporting verb) + if /
whether + clause.
Other changes as in statements.

He asked me if / whether I spoke German.


He asked her if / whether she was British or American.
She asked him if / whether he had watched TV the night before.
They asked us if / whether we could go to their party that night.

WH-QUESTIONS

What is your sisters name? he asked her.

How old will you be next year? she asked me.

Whose car is this? we wondered.

Why have you sent me this email? Susan asked him.
