Domain 2: The Classroom Environment
Ms. Freer was sitting amongst the students in a small group. There are three members of the class who work
together to improve their understanding of the class material. It was evident that Ms. Freer has established a
classroom environment that is supportive and welcomes student participation. The children know that Ms. Freer,
and the members of the class will support them. Ms. Freer utilized google translate to help translate parts of her
lesson, allowing one child to gain a greater understanding of what is expected. She strives to ensure that each
member of the class feels part of the group.

Domain 3: Instruction
The students were presenting biography reports that they had created. This required the children to get up in
front of the class and speak. This helps to build their confidence and public speaking skills. They were comfortable
and very well prepared. Ms. Freer encouraged the children to listen to one another and to be respectful. She
reminded them to think about questions they may have about the immigrant report at the end of the
presentation. She provided the students with immediate feedback and helped them pronounce any term that was
unfamiliar to them.
