Summary of the models
Model Solved Variables What it needs from user?
Thermodynamic file
Default file is available and used by the solver
Equilibrium Mixture Fraction
Need to use specific file if required species is not available or
properties are changed for particular species
Laminar Flame Speed
Premixed Progress Variable Default flame speed correlations are available
Check the range of applicability before using them
Steady Laminar
Mixture Fraction Appropriate Reaction Mechanism
Flamelet Model
Flamelet Generated Mixture Fraction
Manifold Model + Appropriate Reaction Mechanism
Un-normalized Selection of Turbulence-Chemistry Interaction
Reaction Progress

NOTE: Of course, other inputs like boundary conditions, solution parameters would need in any case!

Keep in mind!
All models discussed today are fast chemistry models
FGM can be used as a finite rate closure model, though
Mostly, easy to use and less computational time
In general, predict temperature and major species composition
accurately
Radical species may be far off from the requirements
These models are not suitable for NOx modeling
Post-processing models can be used for NOx predictions OR
Finite chemistry models are required to accurately capture slow forming NOx
