Professional Experiences
System Administrator (Team Leader North East Universities) 27 Dec 2007 to working
ICFAI University Tripura
Job Profile: - Designed and implemented LAN, Planned for the requirement of servers
for 5 Universities of North East including ICFAI University Tripura. Administration of 13
Servers, 207 PCs each in 5 North East Universities located in 5 different states.
Managing 15 staffs working under me for system administration as well as hardware
maintenance, supporting the out station team via telephone. Managing database
server, Domain Server, MS Exchange Server, DNS Server, SPSS Server, E-Scan
Antivirus Server etc remotely and on the site as when required for each University.
Successfully completed virtualization of Server in VMWare ESXi server, implemented
VMotion and VRun on the servers, created consolidated back system for the servers.
Planned, Designed and implemented wireless LAN of Hostels in the 5 Universities of
ICFAI. Planned and Designed VMWare hardware/configuration for 5 Universities of
ICFAI . Design, implement and support of DRS cluster. Documentation done for overall
process from Design-configure-implement and post-implementation of VMWare ESX
3.5. Implemented Open Filer OS to act as a virtual SAN/NAS. Server consolidation
done on IBM servers using VI3 consolidation tools. Used DRS, HA and VMotion to get
optimum performance and high availability of the ESX on all five Universities.
Responsible for setting up Linux server with disk quotas for users. Partitioning of Linux
using DISKDRUID, FDISK and RAID options. Setup/Configuration of Third party
applications across Unix / Linux and Windows 2003. Performed the modification of the
system Boot Loader. Configuration and maintenance of NFS and DNS Servers on
Linux. Managed User Logins Adding, Deleting and Modifying. Designed, installed and
configured Active Directory servers for User authentication. Install and configure IIS
servers along with Apache servers for Managing plugins for the application servers
and to host websites with SSL. Creating new file system, permitting user to mount file
system, monitoring free space, disk usage, Locating files and checking & clearing of
log files. P2V used for migration from physical windows box to virtual. Used Virtual
Center Management Server 2.5 to manage Data centers of ESX servers centrally . VM
networking done using different VLAN tagging methods like VST and VGT. Setup
security for the VM farms. Setup RSA security for virtual machines to provide two
factor authentication. Patching of ESX servers by creating Patch repository on Apache
server. Provided Domain level support for the existing network. SQL Server 2000
Cluster setup in ESX server environment using RDM (Raw Device Mappings) to access
San Disk directly from virtual SAN. Day to day maintenance of SLES9 and SLES10
servers like upgrading Linux kernel and apply latest Linux patches, updating VMWare
tools on Windows as well as SLES9.3/10.1 boxes. Used VM templates, Cloning to
deploy new servers in no time. Configured Xen Virtualization on SLES 10 (64 bit) for
DEV and QA environment. Day to day maintenance of Virtual servers including
monitoring of performance, resource management, troubleshooting of VM Farms.
Overall technical support provided to the Universities 24X7 on call basis.

2. Conversion of Physical Servers to Virtual Server under ESXi Server
(The Project is on Virtualization of Physical servers in 5 Universities of ICFAI University in
North East base station at Agartala)

Job Profile: - As a team leader I was given responsibility for three states viz. Nagaland,
Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh. Installation and commissioning of Layer 3 switches in
different sites of BSNL.

School level Consisting of NVS account management, student enrollment, payment
record, bills, employee records, payroll management, asset tracking of the organization,
monthly, half-yearly and annual report generation for the organization in different levels.
Role & responsibility: - Analyzing software requirement, Module design planning, Module
distribution planning, Designing modules of the software in different levels & Coding
modules. Analyzing requirements for improvements in different modules by consulting
concerned department. Checking and verification of different modules, Rectification of
bugs tracked while verifying, Manual testing of database connectivity, consistency &
integrity. Installation testing, Security testing of database
Job Profile: - Worked as System Administrator, installation of server, nodes for state of art
Lab, day-to-day administration of servers and nodes. Deputed in SIPARD (Sate Institute
of Public Administration and Rural Development) as Faculty cum System Administrator.
