Exercise 1: Making Subjects and Verbs Agree

The subject and verb of a sentence must agree in number. A noun that is singular must
have the singular form of the verb. A noun that is plural takes the plural form of the
verb.
-A cat sleeps during the day. (singular noun cat, singular verb sleeps)
-Cats sleep during the day. (plural noun cats, plural verb sleep)

Draw two lines under the verb in parentheses that agrees with the subject.
