Location, Location, Location

"As God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people". 2 Corinthians 6:16b
Many of us may have heard the phrase "Location, Location, Location." These repetitive words are real estate agents’ ultimate advice when
helping their clientele buy or sell their homes. Real Estate agents (brokers) know that there is more to buying and selling a home than its
physical appearance or appeal. Agents realize that the value of a home will increase or decrease depending on its location.
Brokers are aware of the important factors that add value to property. Many buyers are interested in homes that are located near good schools,
shopping and family recreation. Living near public transportation, health care facilities and jobs is of interest to others. High on the list is the
economical stability and safety of a community.
A person can have the most beautiful home, with great curb appeal and a fabulous interior, but if it is located in an undesirable neighborhood, it
may be hard to sell. Just as home buyers are particular about where they live, God is particular about where He lives. God, too, looks at
location, location, location when looking for a place to reside. God wants our hearts to be His home.
Location of the heart...
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation". Romans 10:9-10
God is looking for a willing heart...those who are willing to invite Jesus into their lives. When we accept Jesus, our once undesirable
locations become places for God to reside. Once inside, God can remodel, restore and retain His new dwelling place.
"Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make
Our home with him." John 14:23 (NKJV)
After Jesus is invited in, God is looking for an obedient heart...those who are willing to love Him and obey His word. When we do this,
God can freely change us inwardly which will change our appearance outwardly.
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For
you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
God is looking for a faithful heart...those who realize that His Son Jesus paid the ultimate price. As we love God and are obedient to His
word, we can glorify God with our lives. The Holy Spirit resides in us enabling us to be faithful to God.
When we allowed God to move in, He accepted us the way we were...in need of much rehab. As a result, let us increase the value of our
temples by having willing, obedient and faithful hearts.
Dear Father, thank you for our restoration. With the right location of our hearts, we pray that our temples will be places You are pleased to
reside.
