Children participating in reality shows is a healthy sign of talent being

given veritable chance to nurture further and groom into a much more
improved form.

.Reality shows provide a better platform than days of yore where one
had a very small chance of being noticed unless one had exceptional
talent and the understanding to make it big. Now there are multiple
shows that provide forum for individuals with talent in a wide variety of
fields.

Big money is also involved in reality shows which spell big costs and it
can even take a real toll on the participants. The drama that comes as
a package of these shows is very disturbing. There will be several
episodes and several rounds of performances or display. Apart from the
winner, who basks in the glory, there are several others who are
criticized and ridiculed in front of others and a nationwide audience.
And if ridicule or rebuke is what they get as a performance appraisal, it
can be devastating for their self-confidence.

Reality shows promote unhealthy interpersonal rivalry among children.

Children are subjected to torturously long working hours, including

recordings and other constant rehearsals for various promotional
programmes. No matter whether children win or lose, it affects them
significantly. Reality shows should maintain the dignity attached to art
of any genre.

It is all a matter of choice. One can choose to stay away from the arc
lights and lead a normal life. Or one can take a plunge to achieve
fame. The children only become more competitive by participating in
such shows. Survival of the fittest holds good in reality shows. Even if
a small milestone is achieved by this route, the child will get a huge
pointer to future.
