Senior Technical Support Engineer


5/2004 - Present Altiris/Symantec, Lindon, UT
Manage and ensure satisfactory resolution of Altiris/Symantec customer's escalated
technical support issues. Help customers maintain and operate their enterprise Windows-
based servers more efficiently and effectively while using Notification Server, Inventory
Solution, Software Delivery Solution, RTSM, and Out of Band Management Solution in
an effort to better manage their client computers. Work with NS 6, NS 7, CMS 6, and
CMS 7. Ensure correct software and hardware inventory of client computers is collected.
Help manage and monitor remote distribution of software to thousands of client
computers. Write custom SQL reports to identify status of installed software, hardware
and other client data stored in the Altiris/Symantec database. Work with various
technologies in combination with Altiris/Symantec software such as IIS, SQL Server, and
all versions of MS Windows. Use technologies (such as WebEx, GoToMeeting, etc.) to
remotely connect to server and client systems to help customers fix and better use their
Notification Server infrastructures. Reproduce customer's technical issues in lab
environment using VMWare ESX, Fusion, Workstation and Microsoft Hyper-V.
Collaborate in planning, implementation, skills and knowledge transfer and day-to-day
operation of new/upgraded Altiris technologies for customers. Document actions taken
to resolve customer issues as well as opportunities to improve customer environments.
Write knowledgebase articles to help educate internal and external customers on
Altiris/Symantec technical solutions.

Responded to customer phone inquiries about technical issues for Legato software
