Wiring Harness Repair Procedure

SUPERSESSION :
This document supersedes PIN-07-07-C-004 and GRI-07-C-006

MODELS: C100 All engine variants

CONDITION:
The customer may complain of ABS / TC Lamps illuminated and no throttle response. When the
technician checks the vehicle with the Scan 100. DTC P2138, P2120 & C0561 may be stored.

Following the checking procedures the technician may diagnose that the ECM or throttle pedal
sensor is defective, but it is actually an intermittent wiring fault in the connector X101.

PRODUCTION IMPROVEMENT :
There has been 2 separate improvements to production, both times there has been gold plated
terminals added to the wiring connectors to reduce resistance.

Improvement on June 14th 2007

Gold terminals on 3 & 6 pins of X101 and 43 & 50 pins of X201

Improvement on June 2nd 2008

Gold terminals on 2, 4, 5, and 7 pins of X101

3. Disconnect the connectors(1) from Under Hood Body Electrical Centre shield.

4. Remove the insulation tape and strip the wire insulation.

5. Add additional wires at this point to bypass the connector X101.

6. Add insulation tape.

7. Rework all six wires in the same method. And then refit all removed parts.

We would advise that soldering is not used for this repair as this may cause a resistance. We
would suggest using a suitable crimped connection.
