this work was to evaluate the yield components of the four cultivars of
strawberry with the presence of jatai bee, in protected environment. In the
methodology four strawberry cultivars were used (oso grande, tudla,
Chandler and Dover) in three densities of jatai bee (absence of the bee,
two and four beehives). For this purpose the structure of the protected
environment was divided in three compartments of 170 m2. The
treatments were distributed in a 4x3 factorial in a randomized
experimental design. Through this work it is possible to conclude that the
Jatai bee can be used as strawberry cultivar pollinator, in protected
environment (greenhouse). However, this bee demands special care
considering its management. Considering the blooming phenology and
fructification, it was observed that four cultivars showed nine
phonological stages. As for the start of flowering and the fruit, the
cultivar Dover was the most precocious. Evaluating the yield components
was observed that the presence of the bee increases the cultivar oso
grande, Tudla and Chandler productivity. However, the benefits were felt
in the four cultivars. On the other hand the cultivar Dover preented
indifferent behavior in the absence and presence of the bee as for the
yield. Considering the fruit quality improvement, the use of 4 beehives in
170 m, in protected environment, was more efficient and cultivar Tudla
was superior to the others.

blooming sprout until the fruit maturation. In the same period, the cultivar
Oso Grande takes an average of 40 days. On the other hand, If the
beginning of flowering were considered (50% of the area flowering) and
fruit growing (10% of fruit >2,5 cm in length), the cultivar Dover is the
most precocious, when compare whit the other ones.
