The same feed flow rate of maleic anhydride, water and dibutyl phthalate, the
composition of the top and bottom products are similar.
From the Excel, the calculated value is deviate from the ASPEN results. In the
simulation, the mixture is assumed to be ideal behavior, which do not have interaction
of forces between components. In reality, the bigger molecule such as dibutyl
phthalate has the tendency to interact with other molecules. Consequently, the reboiler
and condenser need extra works to vaporize and condensed the mixture at bottom and
top stages respectively. In actual, the higher duty of the reboiler and condenser will
directly affect the temperature in top and stages. This has because the temperature
found at top and bottom stages to be different by using Antonie Equation.
