Introduction
XM Dynamic module is a new ROCKWELL product
-
Feature
DIN rail mount
Spring clamp terminal base
Require external 24 DC power supply
ControlNet 1.5
Universal module can be configured for different types of applications (radial,
axial*, velocity, acceleration & BAM)
*XM Dyn module does not support Axial thrust position so the gap voltage is used to determine
the axial thrust position. Converting from Gap voltage to Axial is done in the logic. See the
logic later in the presentation. Will be supported in future.
Software
Firmware
RSNetworx
Below is a typical T70 PG layout.
Note: you must install all the EDS files so the RSNetworx will recognize
the modules.
Vibration instruments
Vibration monitoring system with XM Dynamic Modules for
Standard PG consists of:
Radial/axial vibration probes (turbine):
- unit in rpm
Accelerometer (Gear box):
- unit in g rms
Velocity (Generator): -- unit in in/s rms
Tachometer wiring
Typical wiring for Tachometer
Important notice:
Jumper between terminal 40 & 41 on the first module (where the sensor is connected)
Jumper between modules ZX23301, ZX23302 & ZX23303 (Daisy chain tachometer connection)
Accelerometer wiring
Typical wiring for Accelerometer
Important notice:
Velocity wiring
Typical wiring for Generator Velocity
Important notice:
BAM wiring
Typical wiring for BAM
Important notice:
XM Network wiring
XM Network wiring
XM Dynamic Modules are installed in two rows (with one 1440-ACNR),
the XM Network cable must be connected in terminals 27, 28, 29 & 30 as shown
a 120 Ohm resistor must be installed in the last module (See below)
Example:
I/O configuration
Note: You must install AOP (Add On Profile) to be able to see the
I/O configuration in RSLogix5000

Description
Overall
DC Bias/Gap
1X Magnitude
The measured magnitude of the vibration at the machine speed. This is shown as Sync on the Detail
Bearing Data HMI Display page.
1X Phase
The measured phase of the vibration at the machine speed. This is shown as Sync Phase on the
Detail Bearing Data HMI Display page.
2X Magnitude
2X Phase
3X Magnitude
Sum Harmonics
The sum harmonics value. This is the sum of the amplitude of the harmonics in the range from the
specified starting order through the configured frequency maximum.
Not 1X
The measured magnitude of the vibration excluding the vibration at the machine speed. . This is shown
as Async on the Detail Bearing Data HMI Display page.
Band 0
The measured band 0 value. This and the other band frequency data items are a configurable frequency
range that is a subset of the full spectrum frequency range. This is shown as Engine Frequency
Component 0 on the Detail Bearing Data HMI Display page. This and the other band frequency
measurements are configured to show the amplitude of the highest frequency component within the
bands span. Refer to configuration parameters for band span details.
Band 1
Band 2
Band 3
Speed
Maximum Speed
This is the greatest measured speed value since the most recent reset.
Acceleration
The measured acceleration value. The acceleration is the rate of change in the speed.
SMAX Magnitude
This is the greatest peak magnitude around the orbit. Note that this is only applicable when both
channels of the same module are receiving signals from the same bearing with the two sensors
physically displaced at 90 degree intervals around the direction of shaft rotation. If this condition is not
met, this data value has no relevance.
SMAX Phase
The SMAX phase value. This is the phase at which the greatest peak magnitude occurs around the orbit.
