Criteria B - Developing Ideas

Design brief:
I am going to make and design a product that showcases the mutual phenomenon of
technology and culture. My targeted audience is a society that enhances their culture
with high technology. So that I can find and make an impact on a platform of culture
and technology.
Design Specifications:
Aspect
Aesthetics (Consider
appearance, style, color,
shape/form, texture, pattern,
finish, layout)
Cost (Is there a maximum cost?
Is this a material cost/time
cost/selling cost?)
Customer (Who it is for? What is
the target users age, gender,
socio-economic background?)

Function (What it must do?

What is its purpose? Where will
the product be stored? How
easily can it be
used/maintained?)
Content (Writing the content Deciding on the design and
images - Proofreading and
checking) Include the main
relevant points
Use (relevant) pictures

Safety (What safety factors need

to be incorporated into the
design?)

Should be a Webinar and should include

some animation
Should have music
Attractive Design
Looking Sophisticated
Approx. 5 - 7 minute video
Minimum cost for the equipment for the
video recordings.
Targeted Audience is a community
Diverse Community
Technology should be appreciated and
should be an awareness in the
community
It should reflect the idea of culture and
technology and how it affects us as an
individual.
YouTube and Social Media (Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram etc.)
Portable
Technology in our daily lives
How technology can affect our
present/future
The aspects of culture and how they
affect us individually and globally
How culture affects technology and vice
versa
Daily life with culture and technology
This video shouldnt be looked as a
discrimination of their culture/identity
Shouldnt affect peoples mentality
negatively (unwanted manner)

Accessibility (where it will be

available-Online, in the form of
poster, website etc)

Format (suggest how the video

will be designed )

Manufacturing (What resources

are available? Are there
limitations as to how this can be
created? How much time is
needed to create the design?)

As it should be uploaded on the internet,

it should be easier to access for people
with the basic technology of internet.
Internet includes Social Media and public
websites
I can take it around for showing my
product myself or just search them up
through the customer/clients electronic
devices.
The video should approximately have a
length for 5 to 7 minutes
Shots will be taken as a webinar and
animations will be added with various
softwares.
The shots and animations will be edited
and merged through video-editing
softwares
Should have voice overs or the voice of
the video recordings in the video to
convey information
Resources
Filmora Video Editor
Cameras
Laptops
Internet Connection
An assistant
Online Animation tool: Powtoon
Limitations
Setting a location for shooting
webinars
Not complete understanding of the
softwares/online tools
Putting Animations
Time taken would be approximately 1
month or more.

Design Sketch 1: paste sketch, write design specifications and write brief.

Design Specification
Appearance of video (Color, font,
relevant images and pictures, size,
spacing, use of bullet points and tick
boxes)
Clear and positive title
specific to comments
Style (Language) (Easy to understand,
check for jargon, check for wordiness,
check for formality)
Purpose (Audience of video; what level
of information will be provided
Involvement of service-users (Who and
how; discussed potential barriers;
discussed format, content, style and
accessibility)

Presenting the chosen design

Reason:
I think that the second design is more attractive and stylish which can
help me convey my message more dynamically with professional video
infographics. I feel that the second design could help me make my
evaluation easier. But it would be harder to make the second design
sketch a reality because there is a lot of detail required to make. I
personally like the second design sketch more than the first one
because the first one looks just like a ppt into a video format which (I
think) would bore the targeted audience a lot.

Write the steps you will follow to create your solution.

Include the materials, drawing/diagrams/target
diagram/cycle diagram and the technology you will use

My first step would be to purchase all the materials/equipment required

to finish the webinar shots. These include a tripod and a chroma key. I
would then install the softwares I need which include Filmora 8.0 Video
Editor and Photoshop. Then I would start scripting for my video, this
means that I would divide my video into scenes for giving different
types of information. The next step would be to start recording the
shots for the scenes. I would find a location thats suitable for the video
recordings, and I would set my camera (Nikon Coolpix p100 or iPhone
5S camera) to my tripod. I would require an assistant to record my
movements and zoom in and out as the script (which I have designed)
says. After the shots for the scenes are done for my part, I would sit on
the computer to import all of my shots and photos into the computer for
the video. I would add animations with online tools like PowToon and
get those short animated videos which convey a type of information by
screen recording the video with the tool ScreenCastify. After I record
them, I would import the animated videos into the same project to start
up with the video-editing. So video-editing will take a lot of time as its
to bring out a furbished/final product. After I would make my final
product, it will be time show to the targeted audience and get my work
evaluated.

Understanding of Developing Ideas

Justify:
I think my idea for the solution is most feasible one and I think that I have set the
proper time with an appropriate plan that can be understood by everyone. I think I
should fall the last category because I think that I have done everything in the last
strand. The only thing Ive to work on is my time-management.
