If I could change the educational system I would

put emphasis in rote memory as foundation of learning. This is because

according to Blooms hierarchy of learning, higher order thinking skills are
built upon the lower order thinking skills. In order to reach the top of the
pyramid learners should master the lower skills. As, I observed children
needs to have background knowledge or prior knowledge to learn new
concepts. Some, concepts requires mastery of pre requisite skills to achieve
understanding of a higher concept. Thus, remembering is very important to
learning. Later on the as the students mature, and teachers successfully
reactivates the mastered skills, it would be easier for them to introduce new
ideas.

Since Ive been doing my internship my family has been very supportive.
They extended help in any way they can. However, I am not making an
excuse to not do my responsibility at home and at work. It just makes my
heart stout when they understand that sometimes, due to time constraints I
have to sacrifice some things to prioritize other things.

Today I observed an event that made me very sad because one of my

students is asking for food and he is covered with stains and mud. Parents
seem not to be responsive and responsible to their childrens needs. I dont
know if they are just turning a blind eye or silently bleeds to their situation.

I have found that my greatest strength as a teacher is easily spotting what

might be possible reinforcements for the students to make them learn. I can
easily visualize techniques on how to teach children in the simplest way
possible. I can then experiment which in those TECHNIQUE ARRAY best can
help children learn.

My greatest fear as a teacher is not giving justice to children. This is to NOT

DO what my self is expected me to do. They deserve to be taught well. I fear
that I do not impart values and principles that would make them critical and
thus, gain wisdom through instruction and not necessarily by experience.
(We do not need to be hit by a stone to know that a stone is hard and can
hurt.) I fear that children may forget the essence of education and learning,
which is not to boast and be arrogant in their knowledge and abilities, not for
them to make others inferior of what they know. But to use it, to be wise in
deciphering what is right from wrong and not to criticize others but to build
them just as to be wise as they already are.

I am eager to start teaching so that I can share my knowledge and

experience to promote optimum development to the students. I believe that
all children deserves to be taught accordingly to the best of my capability as
it is the only way I can help in building a better world with citizens who are
also aware of their roles in creating a place with cooperation not competition.

I tried a new method today and it was fantastic because children were
laughing and singing. They enjoyed incorporating music and video clips to
the discussion. Every before and after activities I used music for ice breakers
and transitions. I used pictures as I sing songs and I make them fill in the
lyrics of the songs. They enjoyed it as they were involved in the learning
process. However, being eclectic and knowing when and where different
methods should fit the lessons should also be considered.
