Introduction
This device complies with the relevant safety regulations for information processing
equipment.
Note the warning and information labels on the device.
The device is equipped with a safety-tested power cable, which must be connected
only to a suitable grounded outlet.
Always hold the plug when removing the power cable. Never pull the cable itself.
Install cables in such a way that they will not be stepped on or tripped over or damaged
or crushed in any way.
Have damaged power cables replaced immediately.
Make sure that there is always free access to the sockets used or to the electrical
circuit-breakers of the house installation.
In case of an emergency (e.g. damaged cabinets, controls or power cables, liquids or
foreign objects in the device) take the following steps:
Deactivate the device immediately by:
Switching off the automatic circuit-breaker or removing the fuse inset from the fuse
holder in the distribution box of the building installation;
Disconnecting the plug connectors of the power supply cables from the grounded
sockets in the building installation;
Switching off the mains on/off switch on the power distributor.
Inform the customer service responsible for you.
During a thunderstorm, data transmission lines must not be connected or
disconnected.
Always keep the devices vents free from obstruction to ensure proper air circulation
and to prevent malfunctions resulting from overheating.

Introduction
Only use accessories and extension components that have been approved by us.
Nonobservance can result in damage to the device or violations of regulations
concerning safety, radio interference and ergonomical requirements.
Note that there are only safety extra-low voltage circuits (SELV circuits) if you want to
feed voltage from an external source into prepared cables to install additional
electronics (e.g. connection for an intruder alarm system).
To clean the device only use cleaning agents approved by Wincor Nixdorf International
GmbH (see chapter "Appendix", section "Approved cleaning materials").
Repairs
Repair work may only be carried out by authorized personnel.
Unauthorized opening of the device or repair work carried out improperly could
result in considerable danger to the user.
In case of noncompliance, Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH excludes all
liability.
Lithium batteries
There is danger of fire or explosion if the batteries are handled incorrectly. It is
therefore important to note the following points:
01750045701 E
Introduction
Open the front door and lift the customer panel up (see chapter "Basic Operation",
section "Opening / closing the doors").
Disconnect the power cable from the left rubber
socket at the rear of the power distributor.
To ensure that the entire device is disconnected from power, you must also pull the
plug of the power cable from the wall outlet or interrupt the power supply in the
distributor box of the building by switching off the circuit-breaker or by removing the
fuse.
01750045701 E
Introduction
Rearload
A general power interrupt has the following effects:
All current transactions are immediately aborted
(exception: transport of the ID card).
Depending on the parameter setting, ID cards are either output, retained
or transported to the ID card reject tray. This transaction will be properly
completed.
Dispensed banknotes remain in the transport paths of the cash-out
module. They are transported to the collecting tray or the reject cassette
after the device is switched on.
Open the door of the operating unit (see chapter "Basic Operation", section "Opening /
closing the doors").
Disconnect the power cable from the right
rubber socket at the rear of the power
distributor (see arrow).
01750045701 E
To ensure that the entire device is disconnected from power, you must also pull the
plug of the power cable from the wall outlet or interrupt the power supply in the
distributor box of the building by switching off the circuit-breaker or by removing the
fuse.

From the specified cassette the currency characteristics, the value of the banknotes and
the emission date will be read out. These values are transmitted to the cassette when it is
initialized. There will be as many bank notes dispensed as necessary to determine the
reference value. The process of determining the reference value will be terminated at the
latest if the reference value cannot be determined within the maximum possible number of
notes. After the reference value has been determined, the dispensed number of notes is
reported back to the system.
The dispensed notes are in the stacking compartment.

sequence, release the key when the status display shows the relevant value.
The functions described in the following sections can be performed only when the

Function description
The AZM is being powered up with ' shown on the status
display (for approx. 10 seconds). If an error is detected
which prevents or endangers the operability of the AZM (dirty
photosensors), the relevant error or a warning is displayed
on the status display.
This test function is identical to the power-up test when the
AZM is pushed into the dispensing position (closing the
safety switch).
In this test all mechanical AZM components are operated
one after the other. If an error is detected, it is displayed on
the status display. The lifting magnets for the single reject
switch and the retaining shafts as well as the
electromagnetic clutch can only be subjected to a visual
function test in this case. If no errors are detected during the
test, a RESET is then carried out.
With this test the cash paths and the dispensing function of
all inserted and filled cassettes are checked: First a
banknote is extracted from the top cassette and transported
via the single reject switch to the reject compartment. Then
one banknote is dispensed from each cassette, transported
from the stacking compartment to the standby position (the
shutter remains closed) and then to the reject compartment.
If an error occurs, it is displayed on the status display. If no
errors are detected during the function, a RESET is then
carried out.

TH22
The TH21 / TH22 printer is a compact printer with a thermal printing unit, integrated cutter
and a presenter.
The paper path is controlled by several paper sensors. The printer is equipped with
sensors which indicate the remaining quantity of paper (weekend supply) and the end of
the paper supply. The paper supply can thus be monitored with the user software.
The printer models TH21 and TH22 are operated in the same manner. The difference
between the two models is that the paper width is greater for the TH22; also, it has an
additional connection for controlling an external shutter.

The thermal receipt printer ND9C / ND9G is a modular printer with a thermal printing unit,
integrated paper cutter and a 120 mm presenter for variable receipt length.
The receipt printer generates documents to user software specifications, e.g. receipt slips.
The receipt printer is equipped with sensors which report paper-low status (weekend
supply) and paper-out status so that the paper supply can be monitored by the application
software.
In contrast to receipt printer ND9C (or ND9E), which uses text-oriented printing (ASCII
printer), receipt printer ND9G can only print with graphical orientation (pixel-oriented) (GDI
printer).
ND9G processes paper rolls with the thermal layer and the control marks on the inside
and the outside of the wound roll.
The thermal layer and the control marks must always be on the same side.
