In the beginning of this semester we were given the assignment of writing
an investigative report. We had to write a report that report our audience about
an issue or topic. I decided to go along with my topic for my senior paper. My
senior paper revolves around cultural competence, global literacy/illiteracy, and
the benefits of traveling. The audience I specifically target in my report and I
target in my paper are teens in the United States. My report states that teens in
the U.S.

dont know much about their own country let alone the world outside

of it.
My investigative report which has become my senior paper explains
culture competence and the best way to achieve it, traveling. I explain studying
abroad and its benefits in my report. I furthered my research in my senior paper,
which is by side my investigative, and explain gap years as another option to
travel. In my senior paper which I see as a more developed investigative report
states that traveling can not only conquer global illiteracy, but it can prevent

another problem, isolationaism. Overall, in my report and my paper is trying to

tell teens to get out into to the world and learn about new places, new people,
and a way of living different to theirs.
