American Civil war, also known as secession war, was a civil war in the

United States fought from 1861 to 1865.

To explain how all this stared I will go back in time. So back in 1787, the
constitution of the United States was signed. From here the population
began to expand across North America bringing new territories to the union.
Then, in colonial times, in the 1700s, appeared something named Atlantic
triangular slave trade, which include take African slave to USA and sell them
as property. After the independence, in 1800, the slave sell was forbidden
because some people (most from the north) believed that every man were
equal so slavery made no sense. However, the internal use of slaves
continued. In 1793, with the invention of the cotton gin used to quickly
process cotton as we learnt with the short story, the industry took off and
grew tremendously in 1850.
At the same time, the north became more industrialized with free labor and
workers who were paid. Te Souto dedica-te more to agriculture anda kept
slavery.
Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860 and said A house divided against
itself cannot stand. He proposed to ban the slaves. However, some states
in the south disagreed and together founded the confederated states of
America, which presidents name was Jefferson Davis. The states who
defended the president Lincoln founded the North.
So, in 1861 an important event marked the beginning of the civil war: when
the confederated states of America bombed the fort Sumter in the south,
which was occupied by the federal states. This event was called The Battle
of Fort Sumter. With this attack, Lincoln sends thousands of people to
recapture the federal buildings which were took by the confederacy.
Everyone thought that the confederated states were a minority but, in a few
time, more and more states allied, through agreements, for example the
treaty with Choctaws and Chickasaws which were the American Indians.
Several battles followed in the most industrial war ever, with railways,
telegrams, armor ships and improved weapons. The cotton sell to Europe
ended because the European countries were liberal and indentified with the
same values of equality as the Union.
I want to stand up the bloodiest battle of the USA history: the BATTLE OF
ANTIETAM, in 1862 in the Union territory with 22 717 dead bodies in just one
day. The confederacy went away.
In 1863, Fredrick Douglas, who grew up as slave but escaped, started a
campaign for the abolition of slavery. So, that year Lincoln brought the
emancipation proclamation. . It purported to change the federal legal status of more
than 3 million enslaved people in the designated areas of the South from "slave" to "free.
In 1864, Lincoln was reelected so the force against slavery became stronger. A year later,
the USA congress approved the abolishment of slavery in the constitution. And the
president of the confederacy states (Robert lee) surrender. As a symbol of the end of war,
on April 1865, the USA flag was raised over the Fort Sumter. That evening, Abraham
Lincoln went to a play with his wife on a theatre and was shot and later died. 700 000
people died in this war as well.

Unfortunately, racism didnt end with slavery and in the 1950s the black communities were
segregated from white communities, especially in the Deep South. Many names, like Martin
Luther King, were important in the fights for equality after the civil war after that time, many
rules changed but most of the minds didnt.
