Professional Teaching Target(s):
Id like to be observed on my way of explaining material and making it relatable for students and also my interaction
between the students and me.

Post-lesson Reflection: I think my lesson went well, I like the way I explained my material and the questions I asked to
students. I wish I had concluded the lesson, which I forgot to do it, would of made for a clearer lesson and knowing what
the objectives were. I also think I should have showed more detailed steps in ways to use icing and ways to decorate
instead of letting the students do whatever they came up with.

REFLECTIONS ON LESSONS and TEACHING

Direct Instruction #1
Student Name:____Rebecca Schuler ____Date:____December 6th ____
Topic: Cupcake decorating demo
1. How was this lesson effective/not effective?

I think this lesson was effective because it wasnt a super long lesson and it was very
interactive. The actual lesson portion was summed up well and not to complicated to
understand then I demonstrated piping a cupcake then let the students be creative while giving
tips and advice.
2.

Suggestions for in the future for a lesson of this type

In the future I would definitely stick to a certain technique with the students and have them
work on that skill. I would also have a conclusion in my lesson in the future.

3.

Changes made to the lesson while teaching

The changes I made while I was teaching is that I just went off the top of my head mostly and
barely used my notes. I think it made for a nice smooth lesson and it also showed that I was
excited to teach about this topic.

4. What strategies could I use to reinforce this lesson? (Ideas and/or suggestions from
others)
I could be more specific in my lesson, at the end of the lesson I should of had the students
show me one of their own cupcakes so I could see their progress and of had an conclusion to
wrap it all up.
Other Comments:
Students seemed engaged and excited about the lesson and they liked the way their cupcakes
turned out!
