Throughout history, there have been numerous advances in technology that

have propelled our generation where it is today. From the invention of the
computer in the early to mid-1800s, the telephone in 1876, radio in 1895,
and the television in 1927, these are just some of the advances that have left
a footprint for technology to grow.

Technology has vastly changed over the last 10 years. According to

Chapter 3, Media Technologies and the Dynamics of Change, the Precursor
stage, Invention and Development stages have to take place in order for an
idea is formatted to change in the technology spectrum. Technology is
changing at an exponentially alarming rate of speed. For example, Apple,
who is known for their vast array of phones and advanced technological
gadgets, have released their I-Phones near the same time frame. Apples IPhone 4 was released on June 24, 2010, 5th gen on September 21, 2012, 6th
gen on September 19, 2014, and 7th gen on September 16, 2016. These
dates are near the same time, in September, but also occur every two years.
Next, the first universal credit card, which was rolled out in 1950, could be
used at a variety of establishments. Almost 80 years later, credit card
companies have started to adapt RFID technology into their credit cards, as
well as retail locations establishing credit card readers especially designated

for the chip that is in the card. As of late 2015, RFID technology has been
slowly progressing into credit card companies, and retail establishments.
Other RFID technology that has been thrown out into the public in recent
years include: airline tags, person tracking devices, tire tags that trace with
identification number of vehicle, RFID tags into drug containers to prevent
theft, toll road accessibility and much more. Technology and RFID technology
will be a big part of how we will trade in upcoming years. We will no longer
rely on paper money, keys to unlock our car or door, and radio that comes
into our cars via satellite. All the tasks we will perform will be constituted via
a special chip that will be mandatory and will be instructed to be implanted if
we want to still perform basic functions on earth. Finally, if there are still jobs
within the next 5-10 years, I will be all technologically based. Such as, cyber
security, computer programming, software developers. No tasks that involve
humans will still be in high demand because there will not be any companies
to conglomerate against.

In conclusion, technological advances have lead the way for many years.
From powering our smartphone, to providing heat and electricity for our
homes, it has helped sustain our way of life in the U.S. We will no longer rely
on humans to do the work, but on robotics, and RFID technology will be the
center- point of buying, selling and trading.
