Professional Experience: Mr. Hoover brings 26 years of experience and leadership in the profession to the
MCH team. Prior to joining MCH Mr. Hoover was the principal acoustical consultant on nearly 1,700 projects
involving all building types and all areas of architectural acoustics, noise and vibration control, sound system
design and environmental noise, with the Massachusetts firm of Cavanaugh Tocci Associates, Inc. He
concurrently held faculty positions at Berklee College of Music and Boston Architectural Center. He has
served in numerous leadership positions, including President of the National Council of Acoustical
Consultants and Chairman of the Architectural Acoustics Committee of ASA. Mr. Hoover chaired or co-
chaired numerous technical sessions on architectural acoustics and musical acoustics at various ASA meetings
and is a member of the working group on the ANSI “Classroom Acoustics Standard”. In 1992 he received the
Theodore John Schultz Grant from the Robert B. Newman Student Award Fund, for further development of
textbook, “An Appreciation of Acoustics”, by K. Anthony Hoover.

Project Relevant Comments: Sound isolation from both exterior and interior noises, proper HVAC and
mechanical systems noise control, and tasteful room finishes are fundamental for comfortable lifestyles in all
residential environments. These concerns must be addressed with heightened sensitivity for senior housing,
especially when located near an airport. MCH’s extensive experience with these issues will greatly enhance
cost-effectiveness and timeliness.
