They are 7 layers

APPLICATION layer : Allow access to network resouces.(provides user interface)
PRESENTATION layer: Transulate the data.(presents data and handles processing su
ch as encryption)
SESSION layer : Establishes, Manages and Terminates Sessions (keep different app
lication , data seperate)
TRANSPORT layer: Ensures data is Delivered in Order.(provides reliable or unreli
able delivery. And perform error correction before transmit)
NETWORK layer: Provides shortest path for destination.(provides logical addresin
g , which routers use for path determination)
DATA-LINK layer: Data is encapsulated in frames along with necessary address.(co
mbines packets into bytes and bytes into frames,
provides access to media using MAC address,performs error detection not correcti
on)
PHYSICAL layer: Actual work of transmission takes place here.(moves bits betwee
n devices. Specifices voltage, wire speed and pin-out cables)
