Introduction :
World energy consumption is the total energy used by all of human
civilization.
The current turmoil in the greater Middle East confirms the regions centrality
in world affairs.
Since the rise of Vladimir Putin as Russias President in 1999, a large amount

analysis has been dedicated to Russias energy policy as a means of
fostering the political influence over continental Europe.. The world
distribution of energy consumption reveals that the most developed
countries are the highest consumers of fossil fuels. The US, which is the
most advanced country technologically and richest economically.
Such importance of energy has made it important element in the
foreign policies of the independent states. The 20th century and
dawn of the 21st century have seen wars fought for oil. China is
about to become the largest oil-importing country, while India
becomes the largest importer of coal by the early 2020s. Southeast
Asia likewise is emerging as an expanding demand centre IN NEAR
FUTURE.
The US moves steadily towards meeting all of its energy needs from
domestic resources by 2035. Together, these changes represent a
re-orientation of energy trade from the Atlantic basin to the AsiaPacific region. The global greenhouse-gas emissions, the energy sector will
be pivotal in determining whether or not climate change goals are achieved.
Countries can reduce the impact of high prices by promoting more
efficient, competitive and interconnected energy markets.
Changing Trend Towards Asia :
The new geography of demand and supply
means a re-ordering of global oil trade flows towards Asian markets, with
implications for cooperative efforts to ensure oil security. Coal remains a
cheaper option than gas for generating electricity in many regions.
