2016 In July, a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) C-130 Hercules transport aircraft won the Concours D Elegance trophy at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) Show 2016 at Royal Air Force Base Fair Ford in the United Kingdom. More than 200 aircraft from 50 countries participated in the competition, with the Pakistani contingent stealing the show and winning the trophy.
Best Special Forces - SSG
Pakistans elite Special Forces unit, armys Special Services Group (SSG) has been listed as the best special forces group, ahead of units such as the US Navy SEALs and the British Special Air Service group. The list, by Business Insider Australia ranked Pakistani commandos as the best of the nine top elite forces from around the world.
International Sniper Competition, Beijing 2016
Pakistan won first prize in sniping at the first international sniping competition. Naik Arshad was declared the best sniper in the competition, which was attended by 21 teams representing 14 countries.
Cambrian Patrol 2016
Last year, a team of Pakistan Army won the gold medal in the premier patrolling event of the British Army Exercise Cambrian Patrol - beating around 140 teams from armies across the globe.
UN Peace Keeping Missions
United Nations Deputy SecretaryGeneral Jan Eliasson praised Pakistan as 'one of the most consistent and effective providers of troops and police for the UN', for their service under the UN flag in hot spots around the world. With over 8,000 troops serving in these missions, Pakistan is among the highest contributors to UN peacekeeping operations.
