INTRAPERSONAL

Intrapersonal communication is a communicator's internal use of language or

thought. It can be useful to envision intrapersonal communication occurring in the
mind of the individual in a model which contains a sender, receiver, and feedback
loop.
Intrapersonal communication is the communication process that happens
internally. Communication with others is dependent on individual perceptions, and
those perceptions are developed with the communication that happens within the
individual.
INTERPERSONAL
Interpersonal communication is an exchange of information between two or more
people. It is also an area of study. Communication skills are developed and may be
enhanced or improved with increased knowledge and practice. During
interpersonal communication, there is message sending and message receiving.
This can be conducted using both direct and indirect methods. Successful
interpersonal communication is when the message senders and the message
receivers understand the message. Encompasses: speech communication,
nonverbal communication.
a. Dynamic It is a form of interpersonal communication which involves two
close people who exchange ideas, thoughts and feelings on mutual basis.
Dyadic communication often involves dialogue between two people who
engage in face to face interaction, verbal, non-verbal and written forms of
communication. It refers to the communication where two persons seek to
exchange information
b. Triadic It refers to three or more people who are familiar and working
towards a common objective. It is a small group communication which
involves sharing of information between three or more people
c. Small Group Just like any other form of communication, small group
communication goes through a process in order to ensure its effectiveness
and interpretation of a clear message.
Small group communication involves elements such as the sender and
receivers (group members). The group members initiate ideas, thoughts,
feelings and opinions for discussion. Without this thoughts and ideas, there
would be nothing to discuss about and the group will fail. The group
members act as receivers when they respond to the thoughts and feelings
raised by other members in the group. Message refers to the ideas or the
topic members are discussing or talking about. The members discuss the
topic and come up with appropriate information that is shared.

Public Communication - Public communication happens when individuals and

groups engage in dialogue in the public sphere in order to deliver a message to a
specific audience. Public speaking events, newspaper editorials and billboard
advertisements are a few forms of public communication.

Mass Communication - is the study of how people and entities relay information
through mass media to large segments of the population at the same time. In
other words, mass communication refers to the imparting and exchanging of
information on a large scale to a wide range of people. It is usually understood to
relate newspaper, magazine, and book publishing, as well as radio, television and
film, even via internet as these mediums are used for disseminating information,
news and advertising. Mass communication differs from the studies of other forms
of communication, such as interpersonal communication or organizational
communication, in that it focuses on a single source transmitting information to a
large number of receivers. The study of mass communication is chiefly concerned
with how the content of mass communication persuades or otherwise affects the
behavior, attitude, opinion, or emotion of the person or people receiving the
information.
Organizational communication - is a subfield of the larger discipline of
communication studies. Organizational communication, as a field, is the
consideration, analysis, and criticism of the role of communication in organizational
contexts. Its main function is to inform, persuade and promote goodwill. The flow
of communication could be either formal or informal. Communication flowing
through formal channels are downward, horizontal and upward whereas
communication through informal channels are generally termed as grapevine.
