To find more background information use Encyclopedias:
• Britannica Online is good for background information (especially to
find factual information for disasters, project etc.)
• Specialized encyclopedias e.g., Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology
are good for background information on a technical topic such as
green chemistry and biodiesels.
Use library databases to find journal, magazine and newspaper articles:
Go to Databases by topic e.g., engineering or Databases by Title if you
know the title. Here are some general examples to get you started:

Internet: The Internet is good for finding information about everything
BUT you must critically evaluate websites before you use them in your
research. The Internet is not so good for finding research and technical
articles – for that use the library databases listed above (and others as
appropriate listed on our web page).
