Devega, Chauncey. How White America Emotionally Abuses Black People

Why the white man abuse people of color. N.d. 8 September, 2015
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/9/8/1419445/-How-White-America-Emotionally-Abuses-BlackPeople

Devega starts off saything that white people want the black people to forget the past of the bad
and try and only remember the good but that's the thing the only good came after the bad so how
do they expect them to forget. And he is also bringing up that white people are the ones who are
getting discriminated and not people of color. He talks about how minorities live, how they live,
and white terrorist groups. Majority of the people of same color live in the same neighborhoods
because that makes them feel safer or also could mean that it is the only place they could afford.
But you see white people abuse their power and can do whatever they want and most likely get
away with it because of white privilege.

Tanya Lewis. 9 surprising things your physical appearance says about you

Arthur 1
Why do people judge people based on their looks and not their
personality. n.d. 6 August, 2015
http://www.businessinsider.com/things-your-appearance-says-about-you-2015-7/#people-canaccurately-judge-your-personality-from-a-photo-1
Lewis says that we shouldnt judge someone based on their looks but the sad thing is we do and
thats normal to mankind. But yeah first appearance can mean a lot but also getting to know the
person can help you make a great bond with that person. Just the thing with facial expressions
like if you have a mad face people might think youre a mean person but in reality that person
might be the nicest person ever, but that is the thing people dont want to take the time to meet
someone and get to know them. That's the thing that is wrong with society, that's the main reason
people are discriminated or a victim of racism. The world needs to all come together and push
past all that hate and they should all love each other because hate just brings negativity.

Algernon Austin, We still have a long way to go to achieve racial equality, Economic Policy

Why do we treat people differently of different color , n.d Web. 4

June, 2012
www.epi.org/blog/long-way-to-achieving-racial-equality
In this article, Algernon Austin talks about how we are almost to racial equality and how
close we are to achieving it. After he had did some research on this subject he had found out that
racism is still here, but it isnt as bad as back then. He talked about this one black guy named
Wesley A. brown a man who was brutally hazed for joining the naval academy simply because of
his color, but that didnt stop him, as he stuck with it the white men figured out that he was just a
man like them just with a different color. See people are blind till they try new things, till they
get to know more about someone or something. Big disadvantages blacks have are that they are
more discriminated than whites because they have hard times getting jobs because employers
prefer whites and also with law the cops will majority kill a black person than a white. Austin
agrees with Cohen that it is a better time to be black then back then, but to me that has its ups
and downs because yes they are not as treated as bad as back then, but still there is so much that
still happens to them that is heartbreaking because a lot of them are the nicest people you will
ever meet and have done no wrong, but white people really dont see that they just think they are
all criminals. But yes i do agree with Austin that we are halfway there, I just wish we were
already there.

Sara Hanssan. Struggle For Racial Equality in America Continues

Arthur 1
What are we doing to help people believe that everyone is the same
and skin is just a color. n.d. 9 february, 2015
http://america.aljazeera.com/watch/shows/live-news/articles/2015/2/9/struggle-for-racialequality-in-america-continues.html
Hassan starts off saything that even though MLK had said his speech that people across the
world heard it but it must of went in one ear and out the other. He said that people are still
discriminating still even though MLK tried to change that. Crazy how people who want change
dont really speak up and they are the ones who are helping the people who dont want change
then complain when everything is the same. UCLA did a survey with 200 people if racism is still
a thing and only 25% said no which isnt that much but it was a little boost from the 1990s. The
main point the writer is trying to get across is that if people really want a change then they need
to actually try and do something other than just sit and cry about everything because not
everything is solved with a blink of an eye.

Kali Holloway, 10 Ways White People Are More Racist Than They Realize

Arthur 1
Why do white people think their race is more dominant than others, n.d.
Web. 4 March, 2016.
In this article Holloway first states that white people feel like racism is disappearing but in reality
they are the ones keeping it alive. They feel like if anything they are the ones getting bullied by
other races. Holloway states that it is not really the racism that is happening it is also the heavy
discrimination people are all doing towards each other. In his article he is saying how people of
color are treated very different in the real world like for example the ER he says that minorities
are most likely not to get the same treatment as a white person. Thats crazy how true it is and
how selfish people can be in this country everyone needs to come together and all be equal. Also
Holloway says that that white people are the ones who are likely to do all these types of drugs
and not even pay the price, but if blacks or latinos did that stuff they would get sent away with no
questions asked. See it is sad that we live in this world with so much hate towards others and it
seems we are doing little to stop it.
